I just got in from lunch and had been watching this story on CNN. They reported and had a talking head stating that Fossett doesn't like doing aerobatics and most likely was not taking off in order to do them, despite being in a plane known for it's aerobatic capabilities.
There's a website called, what is it, YouTube? Apparently any jackass with a cell phone and $5 worth of computer equipment can mass produce a video, including editing it.
It's in Dublin, TX. They make it from pure cane sugar. No artificial BS. Tastes absolutely nothing like the crap you buy off the shelf at your supermarket. And if you stop in you can get one whipped up for you from the soda fountain.
They do lie. Flat out. I currently work for an ISP and part of my job is customer support. I have customers lie to me on a daily basis. They aren't wrong, they aren't mistaken, and they're not confused. They lie. Just yesterday I asked a customer if she was using Outlook Express for her email. She distinctly replied "yes, I am". I offered her a few instructions for Outlook Express, at the end of which she says "But I'm using Mail.app on a Mac". I don't know why she lied to me, but she did. I'm sure she was thinking "this guy is an idiot, this won't work" and her whole problem would have been solved much more effectively if she'd been truthful. This kind of thing happens every single day. They lie, and intentionally.
CNN.com (although they're getting so poor that I don't rely on it, it's just a traditional start page for me), Yahoo for personalized news picks, Fark, Slashdot, Weather Underground, and then WorldNews (wn.com) for more international stuff. GameKnot for chess. Those are the only websites I need anymore.
Jeez, why is everyone assuming that the "end users" in the write up are computer jocks, programmers, admins or the like? The dude is probably talking about the secretaries, the clerks, the CEO, the CPA, the lawyers, etc. If you're the data entry clerk and you're spending your time Farking around and setting up proxies then you're screaming to be fired.
We've been using MikroTik on our network for about a year and half now. Works great, all the features we need, and the cost is unbeatable. We've been able to build and deploy a truckload of equipment using MikroTik for a fraction of what one Cisco router would have cost. Yeah, we're a small shop, YMMV.
Done. http://www.foobies.com/
Dude, 1999 called. They want their article back.
Based on the picture in the article, I'd say "hells yeah."
No. Its' just u.
He only got an "honorable mention" but because of his long standing environmental efforts and advocacy I think he should belong as a proper geek/nerd.
All drivers think that all other drivers suck at driving.

So, um, you wouldn't allow kids to take drivers education because they're unlicensed? Yeah, that works.
Cable TV. Even the poorest of people will shell out close to $100 a month for cable or dish tv. You're right, no point at all to this post.
I doubt it. Iron Butterfly, maybe.
"Look. If you're going to claim to be a news outlet, ..."

Is that the same MS Word guy that was on "Identity" a week or two ago?

Natalie Portman, hot grits, blah blah blah
That's what I'd imagine hell to look like. Perhaps it's a giant industro-military office building?

The word you're looking for is "than". Dammit.
How do you draw the distinction?
Don't you mean "que"?
