GL Tron, even at its highly unfinished stage, still feels infinitely better than Armagetron and always has. I really just wish that GL Tron would have seen some LAN capabilities before retreating into the land of dead software.
No, that would be even worse when it comes to the FPS genre. I have multiple computers in my office, it is simply Valve's lame DRM that is stopping me from using it. I remember long ago when games came with multiplayer only "spawn installs" for just this type of situation.
I would very much like to hear more of these Steam-free hacks. I'd love to be able to play my copy of Team Fortress 2 on my home network with the rest of the family. I'll be damned if I'm going to buy three more copies just so the wife and kids can play together--privately.
Going out and buying Madden 0X or Halo isn't too different than purchasing Carnival Games anyway. One is just made on the cheap and probably profits much more, while the others waste time and energy on marketing what's "cool".
Look no farther than a comparison shot between Diablo II's barbarian and Diablo III's barbarian. If nothing else, the proportions seem content to stand in the same over stylized arena that World of Warcraft is in. That is most definitely not what Diablo should look like. With pretty much the entirety of the original team gone however, it's no wonder this new installment to the franchise seems iffy.
My qualm was really that I felt WoW was bleeding over into Diablo's turf from the looks of the screenshots, but now that I have it in context of the story line I'm not much against the color scheme.
You were right in your original reservations. It's not just the oddly colored ambient lighting throughout the environments that make the game feel like WoW however. If you look, you can see that the characters have been stylized to such an extent that they exude the same cartoony feelings and comic book proportions that any WoW player would. This is a far cry from Diablo II's fairly realistic designs.
I didn't know that there was any hassle involved with cracking games. Generally I just copy an.exe over to replace the original--an.exe that had be crafted by some unknown hacker days or even weeks before the games official release at that!
I think that EA is just mad because Spore turned out to be really, really lame. It's little more than bits and pieces of several other games cut and pasted together in the most asinine of ways. The Creature Creator itself is fun, but the gameplay is bland at best and thus has no payoff.
Ideally, Id should just work on the PC for the real version and let another company do a downgraded console version.
Really though, Id has a lot to prove after Doom III. RAGE, while it does sound like a good design, has a lot of iffy little catches floating around it. The mere fact that Id is questioning whether or not to have mod support is bizarre to say the least.
Welcome to the emerging future of gaming, where everything is dumbed down so as to be marketed toward console kiddies.
Rockstar seems to have done that well enough on their own. The move to 3D has done very little but water down the experience so as to better carter to the frat boy demographic.
Oblivion was infinitely inferior to the greatness that was Morrowind however. Outside of the much improved journal system, Oblivion was dumbed-down for a console release and was not better for it.
As far as RPGs go it was horrid. It was really more of an action adventure game with hints of interactivity. It was definitely entertaining, but far too easy and way too linear. More than anything, it showed a lot of missed opportunity. It was well worth playing regardless, especially with the added content and superior controls on the PC. I can't wait to do LAN co-op when the PC version of the sequel eventually hits.
Take Two hasn't done anything really worthy of praise in recent memory. People may think some of the products are groundbreaking or artistic, but its really just been squeals pop culture junk. They probably would have fit in perfectly at EA.
Now don't you just sound like the perfect example of a pissy little city slicker who thinks that they have some sort of privacy while really living like a canned sardine. I have an awfully hard time feeling sorry for someone that puts themselves in the situation where they might be robbed of their privacy by someone else simply looking out of their own equally private window.
Or you could ignore the permits as no one will ever know anyway. It's not really any of their business to begin with. American cities are epicenters of totalitarianism when it comes to wanting to charge you to install door frames or repaint your kitchen!

But a lot of these Wiis are now sitting around collecting dust waiting for decent games.
Where at? I keep hearing this, but as far as I can see it looks to be the PS3 that's still waiting on more than a handful of decent games.

The music creator doesn't even allow for any sort of vocalizing. That instantly makes it pretty darn lame, and inherently limited/shallow.
Stupid customers.

You acutally own a copy of Rock N' Roll Racing?!
Yes! It was one of the best games on the Sega Genesis. Hell, I even have a copy for my GameBoy Advance!
Not too different than what is taught in school anyway. This is just more overtly propaganda.
Nah. That film was just about a bunch of whiny people wandering around an empty airport for three hours.

My thoughts exactly.
Much better:

Bzz--wrong!
The soldiers need to "think harder" before singing up.

I'd be more sympathetic if these morons weren't voluntarily signing their lives away to an uncaring government.
Spore is far from a new genre. It is, at best, a bunch of other genres thrown together in a very unflattering manner.
EA could destroy GTA.

Piracy will always exist regardless. Pushing senseless restrictions upon legitimate users will do more harm to said company than a little piracy.
Besides, the Virtual Console and WiiWare files are encrypted well enough to prevent most people from pirating them.
