I enjoy plenty of popular games. Halo doesn't deserve its popular status however, thus it is overrated. The gameplay is stale, the story even more contrived than usual, the graphics always sub-par, etc. It's a simple trend of console kiddies having never seen or played a truly polished FPS before.
I do, however, hate most popular films. It's too bad your reasoning is so far off base.
They just released what will probably be the biggest game ever on the console True, but very sad. The Halo series is such an uninspired one. It's too bad the masses can't manage to latch onto something not so overrated.
That sounds like a bunch of marketing BS to me, hoping to justify outrageous prices. Movies cost a helluva lot more to make and don't cost near that much to buy (and usually cost less to rent as well!). Of course, again, I personally think that the asking price of $20 is too expensive for most films too.:P
What the game really $70?! Is that what consoles games are going for nowadays? Geeze, I used to think $40 was too expensive. Most video games aren't worth much more than $20-$30 in my opinion.
Oh sure, if you want to say "came out before"! Prey was in development for almost a decade however, all the while making its portal technology well known.
Zoning laws are a good thing? Hehe. I guess for people that would want to be in a neighborhood to begin with...
I for one like being able to run fence and put my horse anyplace I desire, grow food wherever, build onto my house without a permit as well as paint it any color in the rainbow. I buy acreage, not designer bathrooms and ranch houses. While I certainly wouldn't want a factory next door, the closest it could ever get without me selling land is several miles in any direction. I guess that's one of the perks of not being in debt though. I never have had the desire to own a Hummer, after all...
This is, of course, true. It's not as bad as you'd think though. A little inconvenient at times, perhaps. Then again, it is getting better. With a little effort from the necessary parties, it wouldn't even be a problem anymore. My area is supposed to finally have access to cable internet next month. I've done well enough with various satellite providers over the past several years though. The upload isn't very good, there's a few seconds of lag, and you have bandwidth limits, but it's pretty good for general web surfing. Besides, it's very possible to get lucky and be in DSL range. Many rural areas have telephone hubs, if nothing else.
It must be nice to live in suburbia[...]/quote
No, it's not. Just a tad better than living in the city. Rural areas are where it's at. Copious amounts of room, great sense of privacy, low taxes, no zoning laws, etc. There's really just no reason to live in the city unless you're one of those Starbucks-drinking, suit-wearing corporate tools.:P
I would kill to get Dark Side of the Moon or The Wall. I think Animals would be great, myself. The Wall might be a little slow for some of the instruments when taken as a whole however.
I'd like to see a Wii release of the game though, personally. Without such, I'm getting Guitar Hero III. The lower price point and smaller amount of friends required helps too...
The DVD release will see three versions this December. A basic two-disc edition with just the Final Cut and special features. A three-disc edition with the Final Cut, special features, and theatrical cut (what you're talking about) and original director's cut. Finally, a limited edition, numbered five disc version that includes all of that, an early workshop cut of the film, a unicorn figurine and a full-sized detective briefcase to hold it all in.
The workshop edit of the film is really the only thing that makes the super-huge edition appealing for me...
I don't have any such problems. You know why? Because I downloaded the warez version! My girlfriend likes to play the game, but there's no way in Hell that EA is getting $30 every three months for incremental item packs. Besides, those first three expansion packs for the original game should more than make up for it... It's not exactly as if EA is short on cash flow or anything.
We can't even get our policies worked out so as to allow gays equal rights. I doubt robots will fair any better, since the Christians undoubtedly have something against them as well.
The report goes on to discuss the likelihood that many Wiis are gathering dust in owners' cupboards[...] I'll give anyone of these people $200 for their Wii. That seems fair since it's now in used condition and they never plan on using it again.
If it's delayed, it's delayed. Melee was extremely polished and it looks as if Brawl will surpass it in every conceivable way. Heck, I still play Melee semi-frequently. The Wii is selling well, they can afford to delay Brawl for a few extra months to perfect it. Besides, finally knowing that Sonic is official more than makes up for it. Though honestly, how surprising was the addition of Sonic? Brawl has had Solid Snake as a third-party character since day one, and with the Mario/Sonic Olympics game coming, it was inevitable that we'd see one of the most requested characters announced. His fighting style looks to be great as well!
I hate that the typical webpage assumes that everyone has broadband these days. The finesse and minimalist approach of yesteryear no longer applies. Even with broadband at 100%, smaller is always better. No one wants to put the effort in that would go toward efficiency though.
The industry is quickly becoming little more than MMOs. I wouldn't call picking between a bunch of pay-to-play games that are more or less the same a "choice". You are being told what to buy when there are only clones, not competition.

Take that Pac-Man Championship!

Was there an option for them to pay me to listen?
Take that work-based internet monitor!
Choose the PC as their gaming machine and avoid lame pay-to-play MMOs.

...except Deep Throat and Mr. X.

I'm still wanting to go past that 120 day "trail period" for XP Pro 64bit Edition...
