...can make up for the overwhelming load of crap that are the other tracks. I guess it's not inherently the game's fault though, the 80s wasn't a very good decade overall, popular music just happened to suffer the most.
I always liked that one... Square games (and films) tend to be a little too cliche to be interesting for the amount of time intended. I think all J-RPGs do though. More like watching an interactive film than truly roleplaying a character who has to make choices.
And might mean something if Courtney Love had a shred of talent... Her few decent songs were all wrote by Billy Corgan and the ONLY reason anyone even knows of her is because of Kurt Cobain:P
Tweaking doesn't usually seem to be that time consuming, unless you're obsessive over it. Often times it's nice to be able to turn certain "features" off, and it's always a blessing to set your own controls up as opposed to maybe being able to choose from a few predefined ones. Besides, my monitor doesn't feel very small when one takes into consideration how close I sit. I'm more comfortable in my desk chair anyway, since my living room and couch are more for lounging. I'm not saying consoles don't have their place, but over the past several years they have really just been trying to replace computers altogether. Consoles are toys, they should stay at that. I think the Wii has the right idea in that regard. They shouldn't be $600, which is about the price my current PC was to build and runs everything just fine.
And I agree on that front as probably being the only advantage that consoles do have. I've always liked Macs for that as well. It makes development easier and quicker while allowing the most optimization. But even at that, modern computers aren't too different from one another and most developers don't seem to have much trouble spanning their games across the spectrum when they try. Specifically, I remember every installment in the Grand Theft Auto series itself as being far superior on my PC.
Dump the consoles. There's this thing, it's called a computer. It's that little (probably beige) box with an attached television-like thingie that you use to make the game anyway. It's much better...
Like other MMOs! Seriously, I'm really starting to think that Warcraft's popularity was the final nail in PC gaming's coffin. It was already becoming rare to see anything truly great released, and now even more-so that MMOs are at the top of everyone's list of "regurgitated crap to release". At least Age of Conan sounds to add some *cough* new *cough* features and will be set in a universe one could care about. But even at that, I have a hard time seeing how people can justify regularly PAYING to play a game unless they are indeed playing it near non-stop. A habit I have unfortunately witnessed up close and found to be quite annoying. I'm just glad that Quake II actually took some skill, otherwise I might feel as if I had been wasting my time on constant deathmatch back in the day...
I'm not saying it's an excuse per say, just what I have observed. I at least knew enough of the language to get me by in general conversation on all of the occasions I went and I noticed a distinct difference in the way I was treated from that of my traveling companions. However, this was only in Paris itself. I spent considerably more time in the south, where people are generally more nice anyway. It's like that in America though. The majority of people are just asses in large cities. They do take their language very seriously though. France has an entire sector of the government dedicated to preserving their way of speaking, as well as deciding upon what new words to officially introduce. I wish English had defenders like that. It hurts my mind when I hear the little teenagers hanging around Wal-Mart attempting to speak on their flashy cell phones... Or worse yet, reading the kind of trash they write after deluding themselves with text massages.
I'll give you that. Of course, I'm not at all convinced that uniting Europe is that great of an idea. Then again, I'm not too keen on American states being dictated as much as they are by the federal government.;)
Perhaps it's because my culture does go back thousands of years, because America came and stomped all of that out. Aside from that however, I don't think the country as a whole has much of a culture or history. When people look at our culture, they see muscle cars and fast food. Local cultures may fare better, but that doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things. It would be like trying to point out one family's tradition while talking about the heritage of a state.
I receive snotty service all of the time in the U.S. and I live here! I think it has something to do with the long hair and lack of a hillbilly accent though. However, Paris is one of the worst places you can go in France. Not only does it suffer from being a large, filthy city, but it's also a huge tourist attraction. Typical Americans probably are treated worse. If you barge into someplace and immediately ask if anyone speaks English, no one will help you. If you try to speak French and at least acknowledge their culture, people are more forgiving. Such things might be hard for a lot of Americans to understand though, since it's a country with no real culture or history of its own.
I think I'm tired of hearing about Second Life. It's always something utterly stupid from people who take the "game" way too seriously at that. Furthermore, tt's not even a game! There's nothing to do except chat and buy crap. At least World of Warcraft has endless hacking and slashing to sort of qualify it as a videogame! I mean, really... I had tried Second Life and I stood close to all kinds of people, virtually shoving past. You know why? Because no one really cares! Everyone is too busy running off to purchase a set of fairy wings for their character to care whether some other online persona is "staring" at them.
Years (almost a decade, I would say) ago when I had tried it... Bought a nice, big bundled package from the store at that, thinking it would rock. I'm sure that added to my disappointment. At that time however, I really liked Mandrake. I tried my big Suse suite to a friend for American McGee's Alice. Much better:P
Of course, I went through a few different online academies, so it was a necessity. I was home-schooled after elementary, it was only in high school that we went with online academies so that I could have a diploma instead of a GED. I went through four different associations, each better than the last. Ecot, which gave out woeful Compaq desktops and didn't have the slightest shred of organization. TRECA, which provided locked-down iMacs and practiced an overall totalitarian monitoring policy. Ohdela, which gave out decent laptops and had a fairly stable, if not hand-holding system. The best was BOSS (Buckeye Online School for Success); they provided adequate desktops, however I never used it as I took all book-based courses. Read the material, answer questions, send away for exam. That was perfect for me, as I was highly annoyed with the interactive classrooms and hand-holding lessons of the other schools. Of course, I'm sure I'm in the minority on that. I'm also sure that I'm in the minority when it comes to wiping out XP and installing Linux on the computers install. As I wasn't playing many video games on them, I found the OS more than suitable for school work.
I have fairly frequent problems with my nose bleeding (mostly in the winter, that electric heat is DRY). There are little stains everywhere from it; keyboard wrist pad, pillow cases, carpet, around the bathroom sink and shower...
And those small special-interest groups are only still around because I can't go out killing and pillaging whenever I please! Natural selection sure would help out with that "collective ethic population"...

You'd think. But then again, everything in American is subtitled in Spanish nowadays...

What exactly about AOL isn't embarrassing?

I was on IRC the other day and someone typed "/me fucks your ass" while in the channel! I am now traumatized, virtual rape should be a crime!
What about the Lion King versus Kimba: The White Lion? Disney still claims that they don't even see the similarities. XD
Stealing for yourself and stealing for a company are very different. Just like stealing from an individual and steal from a company are different.
That depends on who you ask... I'm going to go with Milgram on this one though.
You personally are not saving money, so why take the risk for company big wigs?

That eBay allows people to sell http://yro.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/05/02/18 39251/
No, ELF isn't kooky. At least they are taking action, unlike the commercialized dweebs that make-up Greenpeace and especially PETA
