Actually, world wide there are reports which go back thousands of years. UFOs are even documented in art work from The Renaissance and by well known scholars. Even Christopher Columbus documents a UFO sighting in his journals as he sought the new world.
More likely why there is no documentation before 1952 is because of the same reason its true (with varying dates) all around the world. Before such a time, no one was charged with recording such sightings.
And for what its worth, crash sites are also reported long before Roswell. Others are reported all over the world, even including Germany, several decades before WWII.
I don't get why you linked to the Wikipedia article about the Renaissance, but this link is a lot more valid to your argument.
If I'd have to make a wager, I'd say the risk of hitting a person in the head with the projectile is much less than the risk of that person having to swim 150m through rough seas to get to a raft dropped off the side of a boat.
why spend so much time and money making all of these devices hearing-aid compatible? why not just make the hearing-aids device compatible? install bluetooth receiver in hearing aid. problem solved.
I was Army and when I watched it, I couldn't get past the fact it took place in 2004 and not only was someone playing an Xbox 360 on a 32" LCD TV, they were playing Gears of War (released 2007). That and the fact everybody was wearing the ACUs (Army Combat Uniform-the grey pixelly one) and not the DCUs (Desert Combat Uniform), which were not all that common until 2005. Didn't notice the cereal though!
I don't think this is making it completely unavailable to them at all. It's easy enough to mail order a game (even if you are in Iraq or Afghanistan), and even easier to drive off base to your local walmart. Also, this say Gamestops on base won't sell the game. It makes no mention of Post or Base Exchanges.
I think it's a good sentiment on Gamestop's part.
Funny, I've always thought of vampires as the new zombies. We had the rash of zombie movies over the last x years- resident evil, 28 days, ect. Now we have all this vampire business going on with true blood and that god awful piece of crap that 12 year old girls and gay men go see.
I don't think it is impossible at all. Maybe with today's technology it is, but who knows what humans will discover and be capable of in the next 100 years. It frustrates me seeing posts from people like you thinking our basic understanding of physics and engineering is the pinnacle of science- which is both vacuous and stupid.
I'm sure we would have still left the trees if everyone was like you, but we probably wouldn't have an airplane or a computer. We probably would not be able to trap light. We probably wouldn't be uncovering quantum secrets, detecting extra-solar planets, or visiting the moon either. We are at the brink of learning how to manipulate space and, in the future, we will only learn more.
These researchers are dumb idiots. They have no clue what they are talking about and are all just dumb, poor idiots without any friends. I bet they are all redneck republicans, too. They live in the bible belt and work on dirty farms! They haven't even been to grad school!
Sent from my iPad.
USAA has both an iPhone and Android app. The android app requires OS version 1.6, so it won't run on an Eris unless you upgrade to 2.1 with the leaked firmware. I don't have the link handy, but it's somewhere in here http://androidforums.com/htc-droid-eris/
Lucky for me I read up on this before using my PS3 at all today.
I seem to have circumvented the issue to a degree.
I unplugged the power my wireless router and then fired up my PS3. From there, I noticed my date/time was set to 12/31/2000. In the system settings, I disabled internet connection and reset the time manually to 3/1/2010.
Now that internet was disabled, I plugged my router back in.
I tested a few games, and all worked. Granted, this does not solve the issue of trophies and getting into PSN, but at least I can play single player games until they come up with a fix.
Yes, that was a bit of a problem. It's a shame, too, because it could have been remedied so easily by putting a strict cap on positive notoriety points earned per day.
Not much could be done about bug exploits other than telling a GM, though...
You're missing the plan, man. He's going to sell people the tools to do street mining. After that, he sits back in fat city.
You mean a styrofoam cup and a butter knife?
shut your cyberfucking mouth
Anyone else notice how his name is more or less a mash up of Hunter Thompson and Albert Hofmann?

Leonard Nimoy..
'Cept if it was a demonstration to China, why do it 35 mi off the coast of LA? It seems unlikely to be seen from China there.
That I prefer to use Frostwire.
I agree with GP. Buy the PS3, but buy it used.
I'm sure they watch /. as well.
Do you think they have an agent provocateur on /. as well? Assuming they do, it might be interesting to hold a Slashdot Poll on who we think it is.
It's me...

Wow. This is the only post in the entire thread that makes sense.

The iPad is bluetooth enabled, though, so having better input is just a matter of pairing it with a kb/mouse.

Valid point, but people who engage in such tactics should go back for some driver re-education. Hence, my statement is still correct ;)
Huh??? Are you in the habit of pressing the brake and the accelerator at the same time when you drive? If so, please go back to driver's ed.
