if this renders me naked. Another example of how outdated, Christian sensitivities regarding the body are interfering with progress. Make a felony to share the output of one of these scanners and that will curtail any possibility of it showing up online. And if it does...oh noes!!! Life goes on!
...kidding me!?!?!?! I guess the 8 hours kids spend in school is also contributing to a sedentary lifestyle. Homework? Shouldn't the kids be out playing? I certainly hope parents are discouraged from buying their kids books. Trying reading while burning calories.
What a joke. As one guy already said this is some politician trying to cash in where ever he can. I play tons of games, watch tons of movies and I have washboard abs. Why? Because those hobbies aren't mutually exclusive with exercising.
Instead of saying "100,000 times more dense than water, and a million times more dense than deuterium ice" why not use the new unit of measurement RO which is short for Rosey O'donald.
So in other words that cubic centimeter is about.08 RO
...I'm laughing my ass off at the guy who wrote it. He's an anarchist who conforms to the vegan lifestyle and is a rubyist amongst other things. Wow...way to be an anarchist bad ass. I love how self proclaimed anarchists are often the biggest conformists who take advantage of things that clearly violate the very notion of anarchism.
It's like the UFC fighter Jeff Monson who has the anarchy symbol tattooed on his chest. Seems to have no problem working within a corporation and cashing his paycheck. I guess the definition has changed over the years.
Your response is completely irrelevant to the point I was trying to make. Whether it costs $1,$100 or $1000 MS clearly wasn't going to give customers the option of downloading a free version that worked indefinitely.
Did everyone think MS was giving away a free OS??? I've come across people in other forums literally cussing out MS as if this is some dirty trick.
Never underestimate the stupidity of some people. Like they think you have two options with Windows 7...either download the free version or go the store and buy the version that costs $100.
...has like a 30% at RottenTomatoes. The guy who wrote the article should do some research first before sounding the alarm. Star Trek is 95% with extremely positive word of mouth.
I own a copy of 3D Studio that only runs under XP. I tried installing it under Vista and it wouldn't work.
Perhaps I can install it under this XP mode and save myself from either having to have an XP maching sitting around OR upgrading to the latest version of 3D Studio which costs thousands.
I did read the article...and nothing said in this thread negates my post.
Nice try Linux apologist. I take it that's a canned response you use whenever someone posts something bad about Linux?
Step 1) Accuse them of having not read the article Step 2) Accuse them of havig not read the posts that somehow absolve Linux of any wrongdoing or error Step 3) Look like a complete idiot
I picture your lips permanently stained red from Linux kool-aid. News flash bud...the operating system really isn't any better. It's just hype.
I thought according to Slashdot members Linux is more secure than Windows!!! Hmmm....gee...looks like reality is a bit different than the fantasy world you fanboys live in.
What Microsoft tried to? Could you be any more of a Linux fan boy? The PC ads couldn't be any more truthful or on point but someone like yourself would never know that. The ads where people choose to pass on the $1999 MacBook are dead on. I picked up a Dell for 50% of that and it has the SAME hardware minus the aluminum case which is hardly worth $1000.
...those that still fall back on the lame "but can it play Crysis" jokes that became irrelevant a year ago when people like myself were playing it at 2560x1600. Of course being hopelessly out of touch didn't prevent them from being modded 5 Funny though.
I'm surprised you weren't modded down for your defense of MS. I've found the only way to fit in around here is to become an open source fanboy with Linux's nuts inserted deep into your throat.
I called it...this place is so transparent. There isn't an ounce of objectivity here. 99% of the posts are simply jokes made by people who clearly didn't even read the article. It's less about discussion and more about who can get "Score:5, Funny".
Positively one of the worst forums out there. It's hilarious that a site about computing has such horrible software behind it. Ever heard of vBulletin or phpBB? Could this forum be any more achaic?

If they only had you on their staff...right don't you wait till they actually announce what they are doing before you pass judgment.
Oh wait...this is Slashdot...carry on.
Why is this modded insightful? People aren't going to abandon existing C/C++ code bases for python.

Apples and oranges. Another dud article here.

but your comments about the comedic sequences is way off. Sounds like your sense of humor should spend some time in dry dock for a refitting.

Really? This is showing up on Slashdot today??? What next an article informing us that they're making a new Star Trek movie????
