Blah blah blah. Correct, it isn't a RATIONAL need. We're programmed this way. And that's why point by point apparently coherent RATIONAL appeals are largely ineffective. Frame it this way: Why do we prefer shitters with stalls and walls vs. one in full public view? Why do we have shutters and shades on our windows? Is it because we all plan on doing something wrong? No, it's just human/animal nature. Privacy and personal space.

And it isn't because of "terrorists".
Again I should know better, but I'm consistently shocked, especially these days by the large disconnect between the will and interest of the public and the legislative efforts/agenda of government as well as the general apathy regarding it.
"In celebration, a science fiction special edition of Nature on 5 July 2007 explores the symbiosis of science and sf, as exemplified by Everett's hypothesis, its birth, evolution, eternal champions and opponents, in biology, physics, literature and beyond.'"...........There fixed that for ya.
Hell yeah I've got an associates in Sumerian I don't give a fuck either. Did I mention that also despite my bmw, porsche and bentleys I don't care either?
Couple that with graduating highschool at 5 years old! And I still don't even care? Oh and that was after I passed the Bar. Well I failed it at 3. But I didn't even care then.
'"All the problems involved the department's unclassified computer networks..."
That is good to know.'
That's because the other breaches are classified.
"At the end of the day, can the US compete in an arms race against TWO superpowers?"
This in addition to the middle-eastern quagmire really makes me wonder, wtf reality does this administration live in? Not fighting a war on multiple fronts as well as some tactical subtlety in relations was basic knowledge, I thought.
First one replaced within a year, broken headphone jack. Replacement failed within 4 months bad hard drive, just out of warranty. Loved it though, but I won't be buying another one. Too expensive for that crap. 2 year warranty, then maybe, otherwise yeah I'm going for a gigabeat next time.

This is only recording what the guy is actually seeing anyway. Consider that it could even moderate overzealous law enforcement. Kind of like the cams on cop cars in the US.
This is a fact of LIFE, and by extension has always been true for humanity, as a matter of monikers, degrees and methodologies. Though a foolproof system is not theoretically possible, in interest of maximizing quality of life, liberty and opportunity for all citizens, it is necessary to have some regulatory systems to level the playing field, and minimize the abuse of concentrated power (which as stated, is a fact of life).
Oh and since nobody has already said it about 18 times.

If they're anything like us, they may have detected us about 35 years ago, but cut funding on the transmitter to build interstellar nukes.

"And hopefully no one loves the mini-Hitlers who go around modding conservative posts "flamebait"."
You'll have to cut the mods a little slack as it's hard for most of us to believe that anyone is actually that dumb and can still operate a computer.

Yeah I know it will be modded offtopic or something, but that's a lol.
Does this administrations track record on transparency and honesty, give you a high degree of confidence in the veracity of that statement?
Conducting surveillance on 300 million people is a big job.

researching countermeasures for this invasive garbage?
How about a populist hacker movement that targets the surveillance apparatus rather than crashing my computer?
