You're missing the point. You see you're thinking logically and rationally, this is not conducive to you spending money. They pay for lots of press and hype and you buy hype. That's how it works. They tell you what to like, don't you understand? This thinking crap is getting in the way of their percentage return on investment numbers.
I can't help but wonder if perhaps there's someone high up in the RIAA that maybe wants there to be some kind of copright reform and (being the sociopath that it takes to get that high in the organization) figures "Fuck it, might as well get as much as we can out of it while forcing the copyright reform." I mean they can't be intelligent and still use the tactics they're using. So there must be something else to it.
This is what's called a pipe dream. The candidate's will not be forced to study science, they're presidential candidate's! That why they hire advisors. An entire segment would have to alienate their constituents. It will not happen. The entire idea is mental masturbation. While you're at it tell the RIAA to stop sueing people and microsoft to open it's code.
That has nothing to do with rich and poor though, that's the sense of entitlement that people have nowadays. I am going to be "rich" one day, simply because I live signifigantly beneath my means and save for investments in fields that I've studied. The fact that I started with less than nothing is the whole reason I do it. That is totally people listening to ads and TV talking about how they "deserve" stuff. The "poor" may be a little more susceptible to it because of escapism, but rich mofo's think they deserve more than they have as well. Hell my sense of wanting more than I have is the whole reason I work toward having more. I just don't get deluded into thinking "stuff right now" equals "rich". This is far more an issue with education than rich/poor.
Furthermore, social security is the primary reason that people in lower income brackets pay *more* percentage wise than people in higher income brackets, since people in higher income brackets don't pay proportionally more for social security. Thus social security decreases social mobility by putting a higher tax burden on the poor. I really don't know about social security in particular, but last I checked all taxes together actually go up in percentage when you hit a certain income bracket. That's the whole reason some people give charitable contributions and it helps their taxes. If hitting a certain income bracket brought your taxes down, noone would ever give "tax deductible" donations. They'd be tryin to get into the next bracket, instead of trying to bring their income down to the lower taxed levels.
Well by your bit of genius, I could set up some hydrogen energy storage system and come back in 50 years and "WOO HOO Free Energy!!" or is it only free if you didn't set it up?, so like if I set it up, it would be free if you came in the next day and got the free energy?
Even so, the "fanatics" should be well aware of all this and plan around it. Movie and console fans camp out weeks in advance. There's no way you're going to be able to convince me that ALL the tickets are like this. The "premium" tickets perhaps, but then this just goes back to supply and demand. Though I'm not a sports person, so I could be talkin out my ass. But it seems that with as many seats as those stadiums hold, there's got to be some that are first come first serve.
Wait, if they're such obsessive fans, why is it they don't already have tickets? Are they forgetful/procrastinate? If so, then they need to pay more. Just like in every other aspect of life, why should this be any different?
Actually what will probably happen and what they will try for is to record enough different people's brainwaves that there can be established some set of patterns that most people go by, or demographics they can generalize with. Since the statistics of it is all they really care about. Even if they specifics aren't right they will eventually be able to get generalized info. After time it will only get better.
Well I guess my question would be: Can we get a strain of the regenerative mouse that also has this tyrocine deficiency and inject human liver cells into it to have them give the regenerative capability to a human host who could then have them injected into. Probably not after reading it, as the regenerative capability transference was occuring with foetal liver stem cells, not adult ones. But sounded cool when I thought of it.
Aw hell no.
so why suggest that someone who is poor and has become overweight due to a substandard diet should be denied health care?
That's the problem right there. People need to educate themselves about the right decisions to make when eating. It's not susbstandard diet, it's eating in the right macronutrient ratios. You can eat the shittyest food there is and if you eat it in the right ratios, you won't be healthy, but you won't get overweight. You have to get some kind of exercise and watch the ratios and that's it. Expensive healthy food can improve your health in general, but if you're just talkin how much fat you have, it's all in the ratios.
This explaination makes the most sense I've seen yet. I can't help but wonder however if there might be a frequency which your body might respond with a reward instead of punishment... Can't think of an evolutionary reason off hand, but it could be interesting to find out.
I have to say comments like this kinda disappoint me. The points you made (people talking to our boobs, assuming that we are secretaries, shouting us down, and paying us less) are not exclusive to the tech field and really have nothing to do with gender. It has completely to do with who you are and how you carry yourself. Paying less? You show that you have the skills and experience to do the job and survey market averages for your job and show it to them and they don't give it to you, you need to look for a new job, regardless of gender. Shouting down? assuming secretaries? This again is how you carry yourself. If you take crap from people they will just keep giving it to you. Again regardless of gender. People talking to your boobs? If it bothers you wear clothes that don't emphasise them. If you just want to feel attractive that's fine, but realize you're not the only one that will be looking. This agian comes back to the social skills and how you interact with people. If they don't stop looking then each time you catch them ask them not to a little louder. When the entire office realizes they are doing it, they will either stop or get fired, problem solved. This has nothing to do with gender, men that treat women badly will treat men badly too. They just have to be made aware that you won't take it and they will go elsewhere. And if they don't, again regardless of gender, report it!
If I ran the place, I'd pause the movie and tell the crowd it's the horrible pirates' fault, tell the crowd the movie will start back up when all of them are following the rules, and then wait for the crowd to take care of the problem. After everyone's gone, you can tape the movie and everyone will think it was the horrible pirates that put it on your favorite file sharing network. Instant scapegoat!:)
Just give us some torture clippy options...

So how much of the encyclopedia she's writing will look surprisingly like the lexicon?
It's called a meme. This is slashdot. Get used to it. Complaining about it just made it a permanent part of slashdot. Good job.

As much as I'm sure you're kidding, the suck thing is that his "remastering" probably will fall under the DMCA. :(

I noticed this too. He probably thought it was really well written and can't stop pattin himself on the back for a job well done.... a long time ago.
Ha ha. You said information is sick of being anthropomorphized.
I vote for iCage(TM)
Also keep in mind the politicians don't mind as you pay sales tax on the full amount.
In between commercials?
Wait, Theocracy? dosn't that just mean military units get +2XP and only state religion can spread?

Wasn't it liver cells that they injected into other mice to give regeneration? So... if they can make the mice make human liver cells...
