I think that this year the Mac's user base in Mexico will grow really really fast. At my work, of 250 employees, I was the only Mac user 3 yars ago and was really hard to find a mac user outside the places you said. Now we are 7 users, and 10 people are saving to buy a Mini each. Not only that, our company is reversing it's policy of only HP Pc's and will buy mac's for web development, graphic design and video production.
The downside is that here the prices for Apple hardware are normally 30-50% higger than in the US, 15% from taxes, and the people of Apple Mexico looks like they don't want their business to grow, they don't make anything to make easy to buy a Mac. If Apple here pulled out a program like the educational discount or financed sales, their market share could easily grow 4 times.

The schools would still buying it: - it's far harder to steal, - the eMac sports a tempered (sp?) glass that protect the CRT-important for the safety of kids- - is easy to keep clean - the all-in-one design helps to keep the classroom's desks clener, only one power cord per machine. - In the case of CRT failure, always the schools buy support contracts anyway (or sould, regardless of vendor). - And last, the eMac uses common optical drives and HD, the two components of a computer more prone to failure or to need a upgrade.
Well, I and 2 coworkers did exacty what he says. The eMac is pretty heavy, but its CRT it's extraordinary, beats my Viewsonic E90fb, for a consumer product, that's not bad. My eMac is first generation, the others are of the 1 and 1.25 GHz versions. The advantages of the eMac over the iMac G4 and/or other machines:
-Price -Easier and cheaper upgrade of CD/DVD drive -Easier upgrade of HD -Tempered (sp?) glass protection for the CRT. **Perfect for schools or any other place with kids -Almost liquid proof. Does't have ventilation oles on top or sides. ** -Incredibly easy to clean.** -low power consuption. (130-170W first gen eMac)
On a personal note, once open, the quality of the eMac's hardware design shines, I encourage you to search for pictures of an open eMac, its design is amazing.
