PE is misleading because it only considers current earnings. A growing company with a PE of 20 could earn back its market cap in 5 years. Plus you have to consider any assets that the company has.
You are lucky with your Firefox memory usage. On three different systems I always end up with a huge memory footprint ( 200MB ) after an hour of usage. Only using the Adblock extension. I keep hoping an update will fix the problem.
Because those Commies sure valued freedom. Capitalism == freedom, sometimes free people do things you don't like or agree with. It's not the Capitalists in this case that are doing the wrong thing, it's the Communist government that is prosecuting the journalists.
Price drops are due to increased competition (supply), not directly by lower cost of production. However a low cost chip like this can allow a price war to happen.
Hey dumbshit, this has nothing to do with HP Unix ( HP-UX ). This has to do with allowing a Linux layer to run on top of the Nonstop servers (formerly Tandem) that run a completely different OS.
Next time do some research (such as reading the fucking article) before spouting.
Too bad displacement doesn't always correlate to efficiency. The new Corvette has a 6 liter V8 engine that gets an EPA rated 18/28 while the Audi A4 for example has a 3.0 liter V6 that is rated at 18/26.
The taxes have lead to an unnatural focus on engine displacement over other factors.
Java Trails is a Java version of RoR. A domain driven collection of tools that allows you to quickly get a CrUD web app up and running. Since it uses Spring, Hibernate, and Tapestry you have complete flexibility to customize code if trails doesn't do what you need.
It will only be a blip in the whole Bay Area housing market, but I have a feeling the Mountain View/Palo Alto area is going to be even more out of control for a year.
Wrong. Jeff Gordon said he would love to race F1 and there is serious talk that he will race soon. Gordon did surprisingly well in a rally and had some time in an F1 car when he and JPM swapped vehicles. No question he is an excellent driver.
You can use the Javascript/ActiveX XMLHTTP object to dynamically read data. I have done it in both IE and Mozilla, though some trickery is needed. Overall it's probably not worth the trouble to use though. If you just want to reload certain portions of a web page you can always use IFrames.
Actually the octane numbers in the UK are calculated differently than in the US. In the US they are an average of two values, resulting in lower numbers. AFAIK the grades of petrol/gas are the same in the UK & US, not counting California which has watered down crap gas.
Higher octane will result in less knocking = more power. It's just that gas is cheap in the US so the manufacturers sell the larger and less efficient engines.
But you will drain your batteries like crazy. When completely out of range most mobile phones boost their output to attempt to contact the cell. Best to just turn it off while in flight.
And thanks for all the fish!

The rich getting poorer is not always good. The stupid getting poorer, now that's always good.

You mean the Olympic car?
I just started looking into PHP (somewhat as a result of this article) but I found the following frameworks:
Seagull
WASP
Fusebox
Mach-II

The difference in treatment is because of lawsuits like this.
That was more likely due to the large plasma TVs they were also powering from the same generator.
I'm sure we'll start seeing better standardization of XMLHttp across different browsers and more stuff like this.
In the Bay Area that's pretty much the total cost (taxes + benefits + base pay) of a permanent employee developer.
HP has lots of retail agreements, so this will get the iPod on to even more store shelves. Costco will carry them for example.

With XBMC the xbox becomes a great media client that can stream DiVX videos from my SMB shares and MPEG video from my replaytv.
Google for '"The Lottery" story' and every hit on the first page talk about the story the original poster refers to.
