They are what they are b/c of backward compatibility. And the only reason Sony and MS have a major foothold is b/c Nintendo way-back-in-the-day never got backwards compatibility.
There is nothing I live more than reading every thread about the Matrix or Star Wars telling me that certain movies stink. It doesn't grow tired at all.

You may have a point. Their jobs may be more expensive just b/c they are in Europe than in a more economically free area.
Two things show the Intelligent Design movement has momentum and should be taken seriously:
1) Science has led famed atheist Anthony Flew to become a theist. This would be the equivalent of the pope become an agnostic. While not proof for anything it is significant.
2) I've seen articles about scientists postulating about multiple universes. Inevitably this is the argument: this universe is incredibly well-tuned for life. We can't allow for a Designer. So we are going to speculate that there are multiple universes.
In regards to 2), I have appreciated the honesty. Atheists don't want to have accountablity for actions. But admitting that psychology is driving their scientific speculations is very refreshing.
Dr. Hugh Ross, who does not believe in evolution, has been theorizing for years that with meteors and billions of years of life on Earth, blowback would have inevitably brought life from Earth to Mars.
Furthermore, there is a solid argument that the public square should have community standards applied to it. The 1st amendment is primarily concerned with content of speech, esp. political speech.
I would assume the hardware portion of Sony could care less what format goes where. I would assume the entertainment division is the big factor in all this.
Combined with Maps, it is a powerful tool. I've already used it to organize a pubcrawl in Brooklyn. Pretty darn accurate. Although a few things here and there don't show up in the local search.
Some reasonable, some not so good. If the economy went to hell because we stood on principle, how many voters would care about principles? I'm guessing about 5-10%. So greed it may be. But blaming politicians may not be the appropriate target. In the end of the day, they'll give you what you want.
There are other situations, like supporting Stalin over Hitler, that are just the best of a lot of bad choices.
Oh, one more thing. If you take the score away from the original movies and they may have been considered really bad films. Williams' score really set the mood well.
the original trilogy never had enough Jedi action to satisfy me. That alone makes the new trilogy worthwhile.
Your point is valid. Episode I wasn't great but not as horrible as people make it out to be. II was good, but not incredible. Very fun.
I think part of the problem is that this trilogy doesn't have the "hero's journey" story line which people just naturally love. It must be in our DNA or something.
And there is no way getting around dealing with Palpatine's rise as well.
I can't think of a better Episode I or II plot outline, so I'll just enjoy them. Episode III looks great, but even if it isn't...there will be plenty of Jedi action.
He using a URL which is assumed to be the main company's. There would be no reason to have the URL except for subterfuge. The original post was right. CompanyXSucks.com would be appropriate.
is anyone passing laws and making rules elected in Europe? Or is it just one big bureaucracy? Are these laws or bureaucratic rules? That may be the same thing in Europe for all I know.
is partly determined by how many people steal. So I wouldn't base fines off of that. Also, there can be a punative nature to the fine.
But you couldn't put in your old games you had lying around. Very bad move on Nintendo's part.

I wish I had mod points for you.
My thoughts exactly. However, I saw the 3rd Matrix out of the sincere hope it would salvage the trilogy. It didn't.
Standards for ID's so we can be sure if you have an ID you are who you say you are.
This was a common sense idea, which was agreed to by everyone on the 9/11 commission.
Can a despotic regime misuse this? Yes. But bank accounts, credit cards, etc. could also be used.
I can see no good reason for not doing this unless you are pro-criminal or paranoid.

Terminator vs. Back to the Future
Governments will tax anything that moves without much concern about the economic havok they are causing.
Dr. Hugh Ross, who does not believe in evolution, has been theorizing for years that with meteors and billions of years of life on Earth, blowback would have inevitably brought life from Earth to Mars.
The taxpayers who through their duly elected representatives set the groundrules for what they pay for.
adult content. They are paying for it.

Adult content doesn't really fit into that.
or to have a good alternative? The author misses the point. Those of us who choose to, don't have to be forced to use Windows. And that's the point.

Whatever the news warrants. At one time it was SCO. Now it's Google, and for good reason.

2+2=4. I didn't read his proof. Nor do I worry if he made any errors in his proof.

One appears to be false advertising. Many people would go there thinking it was Bosley Medical.
I can't name my restaurant McDonald's. And that's not a violation of my free speech rights.
