I beleive just opening an email can confirm a working email address. If you send a unique image to every address, and said account doesn't block images by default then the image can have some code behind it that knows it's been looked at! Thankfully most popular services seem to block images from at least supposed spam (gmail and yahoo do anyway).
Hmm or just linux! I too am confused by what's going to count as an application.. Microsoft's being far too vague, I guess it lets them cover all the cases?
When last I used it seemed that I2P has a whole network of ".i2p" domain things that you could only access if you were a part of the I2P network. Tor is just a proxying service is it not? I think it's something like if Tor was a private network that only Tor users could access.
I'd hardly say that everyone using Facebook is an idiot! Almost everybody I know from my uni uses Facebook, it's pretty handy as an event reminder and for keeping in contact with everyone, much easier than keeping a list of emails, and I wouldn't call most of these people idiots! Perhaps the Myspace comment stands though;) It's always seemed to me that the uni folk use Facebook and those that dropped out in year x use bebo / myspace. YMMV:)
4. Upgrade the infrastructure to support the increasing bandwidth usage of your average user and charge everyone slightly more for this new faster service?
I seem to remember initially getting 8mbit was a lot more than sticking with the old 56k, but now it's costing less for 16mbit "unlimited". Is there any real reason they can't just upgrade the tubes again and charge more for it, surely if they allowed everyone a max of 100mbit and charged a lot for it, it would eventually cover the upgrade cost?
Most FPS games have a voteban/kick method, or regular admin appearances. I'd imagine it'd be the same with this game, if you notice someone is cheating then ban them.
Is there any illegal content made avaliable via torrents on TPB? Illegal content would be what, child porn? Not sure what else.. It may be illegal to downloaded copyrighted material for no cost but the material in the torrents itself isn't illegal afaik. Just making a little distinction:) it makes TPB sound worse to say they are distributing illegal stuff than to say they're providing a means for one to get copyrighted stuff free of charge!
Well I guess we'll all have to start typing "I KNOW YOU'RE SPYING" every few minutes or so, shift held down of course (no copy-pasting!), That'll show them! See http://xkcd.com/525/ for funnies
There really is an amazing amount pointing towards it being true, and we see it all around us taking place, from moths changing colours over decades to remain camoflauged to the massive varaity of dog breeds there are.
As of late we even have DNA to back up the claims of old.
>but until there is substantial proof it should remain quietly in the upper echelons of academia, not taught to grade-school students.
Oh right, so we're to ignore the massive amount of evidence backing up evolution, forcing school kids to think about life and instead teach religious crap to them from birth?
Makes me sick, it really does.
Hmm that seems like a plan to get my friends xbl cancled, I had the stupidity to use my debit card details to buy a $5.00 game for a friend and now my account is being charged per month for xbox live. Calling them up to remove your details is usless unless you know the gamertag and address of the xbl account holder. It's a pity I don't know the username and password else I'd be logging in parading my gay rights.. sigh. On topic this seems utterly stupid, where is the need to censor ones sexual preference, is this meant to protect younglings from knowing that some people like the same sex?! What is the world coming too!
Hmm? Bittorrent isn't local to one website, take down TPB and there are many other trackers that'll take the load. You can't shut down bittorrent, it's a protocol worked into various applications. Ever tried shutting down HTTP?
Would definately work better yeah, not sure about easier though. Unless as you say, you plan in advance and set up a common-grounds partition. May just do this myself next time I decide to try out a different distro!
Not necessarily, if you are using cross platform applications then you can just often copy accross the configs. It may take a little effort but still, saves doing the initial configuring more than once!

I don't see why they can't vim ~/.config/openbox/menu.xml and add their own titles!
Well they may be the unfortunate ones kicked for being good!
At least it deals with anyone that is quite blatently cheating I guess.

Linux? What a girl, you want BSD on there.

Umm is it me or has the internet been slashdotted?!
The 2 times I want to read TFA as well, bah!
Lighten up, eh!
Oh never mind, it appears they allow it to be done online now.

My details have been removed! I'm happy again.
I did try, after being told I could do that I was passed on to someone else who said I couldn't and asked if I would like a replacement card instead.
