The government _can't_ decide what can be viewed and what can't, won't stop 'em all from tryin' though! I'm already proxying myself through servers in other countries to avoid the censorship that the big UK ISPs recently signed up for.
I'm with O2 or BE (one and the same really) on 16mbit/1.5mbit and over wireless manage to hit 14mbit on torrents / http downloads regularly. I wish people would do some research and http://www.ispreview.co.uk/ you know, look for a good ISP first? Though that said I do know a few people who went with virgin just because the line was already there and it would be set up next day.. O2 seem to be the best in the UK that actually offer an unlimited supply, I know that if everyone decided to use all their speed it would soon be capped but I'm happy with nobody actually maxing the line at all. It's cheap too at only 15GBP/month (10 if you have an O2 contract phone) and the one time I had to call them they were actually helpful and sounded like they knew what I was talking about when I asked what to put into the router's settings, etc.
I dunno if I wholely agree on impossible-for-new-players-to-contend thing, It's the same in almost all games imo. For example if you start playing an RTS you're not going to be winning any 1v1's anytime soon, not when the everyone you're against knows all the shortcut keys and what's good against what, etc. And in an FPS you won't fare much better against those that know the maps and have uber reactions built up. I think you stand a much better chance in EVE than in almost all other game genres, even other MMO's such as WoW where you don't stand a chance against someone 2 levels above you. At least in EVE I thought I stood some chance after playing for 2 months and getting a T2 frigate on the go, still not much use when you get warp jammed and webbed in some 0.3 space asteroid field though:'(
I don't really know why this hasn't hit off already with things like Phantasy Star.
It seems like a great idea to me, an MMORPG always seemed like it would work brilliantly on a console unlike an FPS or RTS where a mouse and keyboard are far superior for speed, accuracy, etc.
Maybe it's the general monthly fee that comes with the MMO genre that puts people off.
Yes but if you hop onto a proxy and do all activities from there you have a 2-way secure channel where the proxy server (which happens to be in another country!) is doing all the unsecure communicating. IIRC shell hosting is pretty cheap, get a shell and use putty / ssh to make a socks proxy and ba-ding everything is good!
So many good Freelancer mods, http://ioncross.com/ TW is amazing, and I liked all the TNG mods as well.
Best online experience I've ever had was across many of the Freelancer mods out there
eww godaddy, thats not the company that ruin your domains if you post more than a pixel of person-flesh is it?
I would rather my domain stopped working...

Oh no! yes is a far more interesting command!
What yes is used for I really have no clue

I would be very happy with the music from SSBM or Ocarina of time and the like, gotta love Saria's song!
no we need to worry about 4096!
What if someone posts a link to a webpage which is perfectly harmless, then the next day the webmaster replaces the webpage with hardcore porn.
Of course nobody believes that the "someone" posted an innocent link and so FINED..?
surely this means a key logger only has to wait for .bank to be entered and the account details can be stolen from what the user enters soon afterwards
