    sounds to me like they should just filter the carbon dioxide out and sell it to soda companies, and the rest send to mars. (ok, i know i'm going to get flamed for that. it was just a joke.)

    really though, it would be great if we could get an economically feasible way to get CO2 from our cars and smokestacks to mars without burning more of the stuff or letting it get away from the planet's gravitational pull.

    Only 11% of respondents said they be willing to safely implant a device that enabled them to use their mind to access the Internet. Thoughtcrime anyone? I'm sure the government (or hackers, for that matter) could find a "backdoor" way to the brain-- and read your thoughts and/or dreams.

    worse, they could find a way to control your brain. What did they mean by "safe?"

    This is absolutely true. It's not disproof.

    The point of the thing was actually just that I am sick and tired of people saying that everything science is wrong when a new theory replaces an old one, etc.

    Since slashdotters have typically IQ in the range of 160 to 220, the will remain virgins till age 72 or so by my extrapolation. So if I could somehow find a way to get a negative number, I must have lost my virginity like my dad did.

    glad i waited.

    oh, and i really don't know if other OEMs will start to sell Linux... but where will linux go if they don't advertise it? linspire was a good idea-- they advertised, and (some) people bought. [though, i would have marketed it differently]. right now, i fear that it's only /.'ers and the like who even know that dell is selling linux--and what linux is in the first place.
