The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable SEARCHES and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized...
I know its considered radicalism to quote from the Bill of Rights, but here it is.
2) There's a panopoly of devices that don't expose the machines to any of these vectors that runs $50-150 provided by vendors such as Zoom and Cradlepoint (in fact, it's what I use since it allows the LTE dongle (that doesn't have these "risks" by the way...) be able to switch between 3G and 4G seamlessly (Linux supports both, but NetworkManager doesn't support switching gears between the differing ways both modes are accessed yet...). The devices either have their own battery or not but allow multiple (more than a MiFi type device does...) devices on the connection.
They are REAL, I mine them, I bought them low 2-4 USD , I use them (a lot), I sold some 28-31USD, they are damn profitable... I really don't understand what the speculation is about their value, they work pretty damn well and unlike the US Dollar their buying power is going up and up. Best part is they are not being manipulated by corrupt governments or the creeps from the Federal Reserve Bank. I am willing and able to pay for a 12-14 inch touchpad if someone would make one, and I am sure I am not the only one. 7 inch is a joke, 10 inch is borderline functional, and I might as well beat the jokers to the punch with "THATS WHAT SHE SAID":) Seriously, maybe instead of trying to be another metoo and knock off the iPad, how about a bigger touchpad?! This can be the itch that consumers dont even realize they have that some smart manufacturer can scratch. The marketing campaign practically writes itself with juvenile taglines like BIGGER THAN iPAD. Manufacturers seem to be afraid to cross the line in the sand drawn by Steve...
...is not from Apple... Turning the "Final Cut Pro" nerfing into a broad argument for a dumbing down conspiracy is a bit much. The one thing that Apple has done consistently over the years is treat all of their software developers like competitors and all of the 3rd party hardware developers like enemies. The path of Apples success is littered with corpses of once supporters like Supermac, Radius, RasterOps and many others.

White color crime, internet crime, and in general the "bad boy" rebels are glorified in pop culture and have no problem recruiting into their ranks - the evidence is irrefutable. Marginalizing and underestimating these groups is shortsighted denial. Typically the foot soldiers in these types of groups have little grasp or care for the consequences, so the whole thing about resisting interrogations and stares from cops are after-the-act fluff. The people and organizations that want to protect themselves against these threats need to pull their heads our of their butts and use a lot more common sense in their security setups. These kids are kicking the balls of decades of complacency - the cure is obvious.
The more you tighten your grip, Tarkin, the more star systems will slip through your fingers.
I dont think that catching a few individuals will do much, if anything, the backlash may recruit more people into the ranks of Anonymous and LulzSec, and make them angrier. This is a classic insurgency and they are a real bitch to fight.
