I would further like to suggest that we should then celebrate the first day of the month following the start of the lunar year, But let's not stop there, keep it up and we can get the whole year off. Except that I tend to work in industries that don't recognize most federal holidays. That's just for those lazy government workers.
In fact, forget mandatory holidays anyway, just give me more paid time off that I can take on my own schedule.
The netbook was supposed to be cheap, semi-shitty, low power hardware. Putting Windows on it meant the specs had to be bumped and hard-drives had to go old-school instead of SSD. Suddenly you're back in regular laptop territory and your point applies. They should be $200, not $300.
Agreed. The mousewheel has become ubiquitous because it out-competed the effort required to twitch the mouse to move the pointer over to the scroll bar.
Aside: Have any comedies spoofed gesture interfaces? It seems like it would be a good target for a physical comedian (Rowan Atkinson, Lee Evans or Ryan Stiles for example).
Keyboard navigation has been reasonably well supported on most operating systems I have encountered to date (granted I have no experience with Windows Hate yet). Even something like Android is surprisingly usable.
Android devices can be used with keyboards and mice. Try it. Not only can I say that when I have it set up, the preference is to use the keyboard and mouse over the touch screen but also, if the only option is the keyboard, I will use the keyboard navigation as much as possible over the touch screen.
Now that Steam runs on Linux, imagine an x86 Android with Steam games. It wouldn't take much more than that to steamroller things since Microsoft lowered the bar so much with 8.
I think he tends to indulge in cargo-cult writing. He'll pull in a bunch of neat ideas from other sci-fi works which give the whole thing a great foreshadowing/arc feel but when it comes time to tie it all together and wrap it up, he just doesn't have the chops.
They should tie him and Jane Espenson together and throw them to the sarlac.
Dumb implementation of some useful tech. I'd quite like to be able to turn out all the lights at the same time when I go to bed rather than having to do a big loop. Something like X10 would have this handled if it was that much of an issue though.
"We added an 'O'"
I've done it. It's really nice. It can be a struggle getting through some days but when it's the end of the week, it really pays back.
Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: No, it is, in fact, way past time.
Next question?

The true answer is you buy the one with interchangeable heads *and* the fixed-head ones. Each has their use.

Sure. And what should their recourse be if you break that contract? $500,000 fine and five years in prison?
You guys are making a real hash of this thread.
What's the government trying to hide this time?
However, the same could be said for the US government which actually has a worse record of abuse of US citizens than does the Chinese.
"I like the chick but when's she going to stop showing QR codes to the camera and get down to some action?"
Ghasts also.

How is that in the remotest easier than using the cursor keys, space bar, scroll wheel (fantastic invention) or the scroll area on the trackpad?
Oh, I see what you mean. Cheaper then the non-touch screens then but still more expensive than non-touch screens now.
WTF?

I had no real problem with the Ewoks. Then again, the whole of the Endor-surface thing was the B-plot for me.
I have. And you're absolutely correct.

once a player got so many hits he would have to be sidelined,
Perfect way to make sure that good players get a goodly amount of "accidental" hits.
And don't forget the boredom. The terrible, interminable boredom.
