I was at a kmart closing sale last month, everything 20-70% off it said. All the normal prices had been removed or marked over with black marker and raised about 30% above what the products usually cost. Cans of dog food that use to be $1 were now 1.29 but 20% off, so still 9 cents more than their original price. All throughout the store everything was more that it ever sold for.
And has anyone been to a Harbor Freight store ? Totally unrealistic base prices on everything...Normally $29.99 sale price $6.99....This saw only $49.99, compare at $325.00. There have been wrenches 'on-sale' at the same price for years that I have never seen being sold at their normal price.
Big companies selling their mass market products, doubling the price and trying to make it look like they are a small niche company is what killed them.
Under 20 second cold boot...My cheap Hisence chromebook will cold boot in about 6 seconds and resume in 2 seconds. The entire out of the box set-up process takes 10 seconds (google log-on & password + wifi selection) and your ready to go. Windows laptops seem to ask 20 questions at setup and need to reboot and install updates several times before first use. Also, Chromebooks don't show ads on the lockscreen or app menu, have tons of presinstalled apps you don't want and do not have a bunch of 60 day trialware programs.
I have nearly a half million views on my channel but have not monetized any of the videos. Sure I could make a few dollars but I don't like watching ads but Im sure most other people don't like them either.
About 3 times a year/. and the other sties post one more story on a breakthrough battery. Smaller, lighter, larger capacity, faster charging but it never seems to happen.
I was looking up an order on a stores website once, I noticed the url was just like suckywebstore.com/order?11567 . Out of curiosity I changed the last digit of the order page url (maybe like 11567 to 11566) and it then showed me the complete order for another customer, and changing the number to any other number less then showed that order's info.
That order page showed the customer address, phone #, email address, items ordered, last 4 of the CC # & date, shipping, time and date of the order.
That first thing I thought of was a scammer could call or email any customer, Say - Hi Todd, this is joe from suckystore.com and your order for the 3 dvd players and 2 cables last tuesday didn't get approved, can I get that credit card number from you again ? it was missing one number - Since you had all their order information most people would be sure it was a real call/email and would not hesitate to give you that credit card again. And because you had the customers full name & address it would be very easy to go on a shopping spree with out asking for revealing information.
When I was little I would want to keep playing with my trainset and not want to go sit down and eat dinner. 10 years later computers and video games kept me in my room. 10 years later internet and online gaming kept me up allnight. Some people watch tv all night and don't even like the shows. There is always something new and exciting to do.
But I do see a difference with personal devices. You can't bring your trainset, console video games or desktop computer to the restaurant or to bed. It happens to us, my wife can spend a whole dinner on facebook, checking every 30 seconds for new notifications and feeling the need to instantly respond to everyone. We may as well be eating separately. Work emails and texts from coworkers 24 hours per day don't help either. Same thing at home, the bedroom is not as active as it once was, facebooking or playing candy crush until she falls asleep and hardly any 'special' together time.
The problem with using audiable is all their content is a proprietary file format that requires their own player. You can't download an audio book, put it on a usb drive and play it in on most a car radio made in the past 6+ years. I was hoping after amazon bought them they would switch to mp3, like all of amazon's music store.
Since drivers side mirrors (in the US) still have huge blindspots(so people buy a $3.99 stick on mirror to fix their $40,000 car) mounting a rearward facing camera near the front of the fender would eliminate that blind spot.
I remember way back before the internet if you needed to know what time the movies were at, you called the theaters movie hotline. If you didn't catch the weather on last nights news, you could call your local tv stations weather hotline for a recording of the forecast. At the store they use to manually imprint your credit card with out knowing if the card was even valid, turn that slip into their bank in the next 3-5 days, the bank would process the transaction.
I disabled autoupdates about 6 months ago on all our work computers and my own computers at home. So far it has worked great, no nagging windows 10 notifications. Just manually check updates now and then and make sure to only download real ones and none related to windows 10.
Users should have an option they can opt in or out, but if there was no limit by default how many users would pick 1080 playback on their 480x800 phones ?
For $730 it's way too expensive. You can get a good samsung for under $200 or a phone with similar specs like the zen phone for $300. Then why would you want to pull out the camera or other bits ? The only thing I would want is to be able to swap the parts into a keyboard case, but looks like no keyboard is available.
Lets put on 20 and charge $900. And that will be what the guy at best buy will sell your mom for watching netflix on her laptop and making facebook faster on her ipad.
Save you dead ones then. Once they are no longer available you can just crack them open and solder in some new cells. Likely much higher capacity than the original ones too.
If you read the comments at imdb, they all say things like - this movie looks stupid im never going to pay to see it i would give it 0 stars if i could -...
Meaning they rated it but never watched it.
Just like the story a few years ago about the ATM locks. The atm maker had a picture of a key on their website and click here to order keys. Someone just printed the key out, and filed a blank to match the picture and it worked. They posted the actual image of the master real key on their website. A good locksmith can look at a key and say ' thats a G87 blank with a 4,3,6,3,2 cut' .
Same here. Thats why I cant play games anymore. They all want to be downloaded, then constantly updated or you can't play until you get the update. We cant get cable or dsl, we use expensive verizon lte and cant watch netflix, youtube and have to turn off autoupdates on all out computers, phones and tablets. The only games I can play are pirated versions, downloaded someplace else and brought home. They come as a complete download, ready to install and patched to not go online to check for updates.
But likely listening to a cd was just done via an analog input on the soundcard, the cd drive was doing the digital to audio conversion so it wasnt really using any resources. But yes, i multitaskeds on win 3.1 also with some minor programs, game of course sucked and had to reboot in dos mode to play them. What was my sound card setting again ? set blaster a220 i7 d1
They may look good, low prices and no overage charger (only reduced speed) but for most of the country it will have no service or Edge (slow 2g). We have tmobile and it sucks when traveling. Soon as your outside a city you loose coverage.
Try verizon, best coverage but most expensive. Turn off all your iphone autoupdates for both system and apps, that will help.
and it cost about $25 on newegg, I use it for the kid's wifi, it shuts off at 10pm during the week. Last time I looked, it said uptime was about 254 days, I have much more expensive routers that cant go nearly that long without needing reboots. I have zero interest on these $200+ routers everyone is dumping on the market now, even with google branding.

They can figure out your views from posting on sites like this, or do you not use the internet at all ? This was a one time thing.

Win 10 just gets worse and worse as it matures. I'm still happily on 7 with autoupdates disabled and the win 10 upgrade notifier removed

Their data collection will include doccuments read during scans or returning some of the images on your computer ? Sounds like the next step.
