All I can say from a British standpoint is that we certainly would prefer it if you didn't elect Hilary;P As an American I can say on behalf of my countrymen - we've never made decisions with the intent of pleasing the rest of the world, but there's no time like the present!
They're confiscating the full amount, plus fining them an additional $1.9M. So, the guilty parties will have lost at least $2M on the deal once legal costs, etc. are accounted for. How is that not a deterrent? They're confiscating the money? Does this mean I get my two dollars back? I want my two dollars!
Heh, I left Michigan because I couldn't find a decent job. 35k a year to deal w/ terrible, hacked code and 2 incompetent bosses (I had 3 in a 7 person company)? No thanks. There are plenty of CS jobs if you're willing to adapt. Oracle, Google, Microsoft, MySpace, they're all always hiring.
Good luck.
Am I the only one that wishes that it WOULDN'T bounce back? Less CS graduates means less competition for the rest of us. Yea, I hope it doesn't but that's because I suck at my job. What's your excuse?
Most people forget that southern Ontario dips well south into the great-lakes basin. Yes, despite our best efforts you Canadians have managed to encroach into the South in some places.
I think this is the point where you bring up 9/11 and implore me to support the troops. Woah there, billy-bob! Out here in these parts, we support our brothers and sisters in the serv-us. No god damn commie, hippie, VW drivin' sumabitch is gonna up here to MY shack and harass me and all my yellow ribbons I have stuck't all over my SUV, my hunting truck, my towin' truck, and muddin' truck, aw hell, or the other 10 trucks I have on blocks. Don't you ever forgit 9/11 and our brave brothers and sisters who died defending those towers from the EVIL oppression of the dark man from the deser't. Whatever a deser't is, probably some muslim invention. Them muslim sumabitches have a jihad against our freeness, because we're free, and they're jealous of our freeness. You seen how many yellow ribbons I got taped to my trucks? I'm that free! How free are you, you sumabitchin' commie hippie?
What we need to do is to get a whole bunch of people to write in to see some PC myths. Myth: The printer error 'PC load letter' predicts when a printer is going to be found in a field, smashed to bits by a bat and bare hand.
His statements would have more credibility if he dedicated Microsoft to cease illegal, anti-competitive behavior. You know, a kinder, gentler capitalism. No, they wouldn't. He's calling for more human compassion from corporations, not compassion from competitors. Eliminating their anti-competitive behavior would make for a kinder, gentler competitiveness. Bill wants corporations to act more responsibly with their wealth in regards to the poor population of the world.
Maybe your friend is still rich, doesn't need to work, and that's what makes him happy? Rich people can retire and work for fun, you know!

Argh! Dammit! It's lose, not loose. LOSE LOSE LOSE LOSE. You should definitely figure out your friend's motives for work otherwise he could be insulted and you'd loose a friend.
If you consider their search engine then CNN picked it up. If you don't, then like me, you're probably angry with CNN. Even Fox news has a run of the story. FOX!
If I recall correctly from a lawyer that was defending me, in a Civil case the 5th amendment doesn't protect you. So, if the government files it in a Civil court you're still hosed.
But, IANAL, so take that w/ a grain of salt.
The problem with a recession is that everyone just sits around doing nothing with no direction, not that the money supply dried up. It's a testament to the power of sheeple. So...I should go spend? Thank god I already applied for this Gucci credit card!
Any one of these I think could have done the same thing, and with completely innocent (though mischievous) intent. Mischievous and innocent are mutually exclusive.
Okay, that's a tax scheme we expect of businesses - avoid them (taxes) at all costs. Hell, even Microsoft with it's billion dollars of donations to charity is playing that game (they've been setup in Ireland longer). To see that Google is doing it, come on, 'Do No Evil' is rapidly becoming 'Do No Evil To Teh Profits'. It's a natural step for a large company but can we now stop pretending that Google is the small, innocent and friendly company of lore? Can we just admit that Google is now a fierce competitor willing to do whatever it takes to win?

The fact that this is modded +5 Insightful scares the piss out of me. Come on, this post was a joke or is such a silly theory it's laughable!
...Certainly no obvious fairy tales, like Christian, Jewish, or Islamic miracles. I got one word for you, "Xenu".And that's why I love being an American, we can get other people to foot our bills when we're testing deadly and toxic weapons!

damn, I fold.

You're like a cheery person in the morning. drop dead!
