    Also, consider putting a leash on the police vehicle with steel cables... I dunno... maybe to lamp posts or some such fixed infrastructure.

    What movie was that already? Or was it Duke of Hazzard? Anyway, they tie a chain to the rear axle of a patrol car and when the car takes off, when it reaches the length of the chain, the axle and wheels stay there and the car continue moving...

    Well if you were a schlub, it could make sense that you do just the opposite instead. So it the case you mention, slow windows machine down instead and pretend it was a mistake if found out.

    Sure it could make ripping streams harder but I never understood how DRM could prevent you from reproducing a stream since you have to be able to see and hear it ultimately. Replace ears and eyes with sensors or tap into display and speakers and there you go.

  11. The solutions to this problem have been known for years:

    Solution 1)
    Reinstall windows from scratch, then install VS.

    Solution 2)
    Run windows in a VM. I found that windows works much better if you only let it see some kind of generic hardware.

    I like daylight saving for this exact reason - more daylight after work (and no, I can't just change my work schedule to give myself more daylight time in the evenings).

    I'd be fine with just settling on daylight savings time year round... no more "spring forward, fall back". I live in Washington state, so during winter it's going to be dark when I'm going to work and when I'm coming home anyway...

    But... but... think of the children! They usually get young kids home from school before dark...

    Remembering vibes, faces and in short; "the big picture" is seldom seen.

    There is a distinction between the two.

  22. My mother tells me that when black and white TV first came out, some people used to dress all nice and clean to watch TV, like if they were going to a wedding or something. Apparently, they weren't sure if the guy in the TV could see them and they wouldn't trust you if you told them he couldn't.
