Leave the roaming bit to the layer below it (TCP), or even better - below that (IP) ? It seems more appropriate to not just be able to roam ssh. Not everything is http, you know.
Funny, I had the opposite reaction: I thought, when I first read it: Oh no - he won't actually have ported Linux to 8-bit now, will he? and then I read about his solution and I thought - yeah, that's actually the best way to go about it. Elegant, clever, portable.
Just use SQL statement preparation. It's that easy. Sure, sanitize your inputs, but you'll always have fields that must be able to contain anything, Use 'prepare'. It's there. Yes, it's a shame that PHP doesn't support it (easily), but that's what you get for using an immature language. Use perl. With perl, proper statement preparation comes out of the box and is easy to use. And statement preparation cannot go wrong.
Yes. And the write-up of the article mentions MacOS and Windows. And not X, which has had 'spaces' for longer than anyone can remember. That's just sore, man.
It's more that it's a sign of the times of how 'top-people' are expected to be 'top-people' wherever they are. Take a 'top-banker' and make him head of the post office and before you know it, you have an extremely profitable post office. Or something. What the exchange of Petraeus and Panetta say, is that people don't believe in earning your spurs in your own line of business anymore.
business cards have to have blank backs. So you can write on them how you met the giver, and what you want to do with them in the future. That's also why graphic designers that come up fancy new ideas of why your business card should have something else besides a blank back ('because it's boring'), should be run out of town. On a rails.
I tried Chrome the other day for the first time, and I was not impressed. All those things that I'd come to expect from using Firefox in Linux - flash not (immediately) working, websites gratuitously opening new windows in the background, and not a single way to make sure you have a menu or even a 'quit' button - I felt quite unsafe and not-in-control. Every now and then I come into contact with a computing experience the way the rest of the world expects it, and I find it most unpleasant.
Agreed, but - there's too much focus on the 'tablet' experience. I use a workstation, not a tablet. - it's defenitely not versatile and configurable enough. Unity's dumber than MacOS and that's saying something. - Its first release on Ubuntu (and many consequent releases since) has been plagued with bugs. So much so, that I'm back to xcfe, until someone can point me out that Unity will not abandon me anymore for some reason.
Last time you guys went into Iran, you were humiliated. By your own equipment, no less.
I don't have to, darling.
Profit
No, it's the other way 'round. Jupiter is the faint one, Venus is the bright one.
'Once a prisoner, he is now free.' So we have slavery now ?

The strangest RFC I had read in years.

Especially since, a few centuries earlier, Spinoza had already equated God with nature and got away with it.
Dude. Chapman was real.
She'd get hot ?
Both parties can be said to be 'In their self-righteous zealousness be bringing substantial damage to the free and open Internet.'

It's quaint, I know. But if it means I can now start a website called fecesbook, I'm all for it.

Yeah because research and publication cost absolutely zero money man !

When you are older, you will realize that wearing a suit is not small mindedness. It is about creating a fair playground.

Perhaps he knows because he can read ? There are other ways to perceive experiences you know.
'I didn't make such statements at the time.'
No, but you bloody damn well make them now.
'it shows that many people incorrectly use down-modding to disagree with something rather than offering a counter-point.'
Welcome to Slashdot. Let me give you an introduction. The logo is on top, the account options are on the right, the sub-sections are on the left.
'In the end, I state what I believe. I don't cater to moderation.'
Then don't whine.
Someone re-invented scripting languages ?
