    I just can't help to wonder if IP phones will be the driving force behind IPv6. Millions of phones need their IP numbers. Of course it can be used with NATs and VPNs, but a real IP number would make much more sense.

    My next 'phone' will be either Palm-based Tungsten or Symbian-based Ericsson/Nokia. Which one to get?
    The Palm has thousends of applications and games, but Symbian has Repton, and is more 'modern'. GPRS here is surprisingly cheap, so I'm looking forward to use it, since I don't talk much on the phone.
    Choices, choices....

    If you have a lot of money, you can get the Nikon Pro cameras (D1x, D1h), they can hook up to a gps receiver. Doing this by hand is just too tedious. (Snap whoto, whip out gps, mark location, note image number/name...)

    What idiot marked this as "Insightful"? Let me make a bullet list:
    • You can find lots of documents online at oracle, but I guess you didnt care
    • Speed, MySQL is speedy, because it doesn't have to do anything
    • Again, no refirental integry (OOps, I didn't mean to change that foreign key, now I don't know what it pointed too, my database is corrupt! AAARG!)
    • Rollbacks are not fancy stuff, they are essential to a real database
    • Hardware levels? Ok, go back to your parents basement
    With Oracle you can choose: speed, security.
    Mysql: Speed. Only.
    Mysql is like a dragster, fast but no control.
    Next time you want to start karmawhoring, at least pretend that you know what you are talking about.

    Tell me why I need to recomple a browser, to get AA support? Why isn't this just a switch in the window environment or even the X server? Am I really the only one who has problems with this? Do I have to recompile the browser if I switch from 16bit colour to 32bit? I'm sorry, but this IRIITATES me!

    Everybody who is really interest in movies ignores that Oscar thing. It is just so "they" can pat them self on the bak. I hope they don't pull a muscle doing it.
    The escrements coming from Hollywood each year gets worse every time.
    I should put some better arguments, but I just don't find it worth my time. :

    The next generation of cell phones with Symbian (SonyEricsson P800, Nokia 7650) and PalmOS (Handspring Treo, Palm Tungsten W) are going to make this workable. Handwriting, even small keyboard will make this feasable. (Finally!)

    Ditto. This is one ugly hack, if you ask me. That is definetly the Frankenstein Computer. Why not put the thing on top (what is that? compressor? the lousy article doesn't say) inside this monster case? I totally fail to see the 'coolness' of projects like these, it's like the glue-on spoliers.

    The P800 uses Symbian, an OS that really looks good on paper.
    Palm:
    + 320x320 screen
    + PalmOS (familarity & apps)
    + Keyboard (emailing and bitching on /.)
    + MMS/SSD card
    - Size
    - Battery?
    P800
    + Smaller, more phone-like
    ? 208x320 screen
    - No keyboard
    - Memory Stick
    - No PalmOS (?)
    - Price?
