So what about app developers that do not use Xcode 5? What if they use Mono or Embarcadero's Delphi or C++? Is this there way of killing of developer system competitors?
Is that still the case? I know 'way back when' that food had a great difference in height. But more than quality food it was quantity in the years needed. It was caloric intake. So does better food now, in 2013, increase the average height of the population?
Quoting a lower ranked answer because I use 64 bit Embarcaderos compiler and find it quite nice.
"Hmm, I looked at their website and see prices from $999 to $3999. The 64 bit compiler is included at the $999. Looks like all kinds of enterprise database stuff is in the $3999 version."
Right, so we might as well stop selling knives, because someone might stab someone in the future. Or stop selling guns, or stop selling axes, or matches.
All these things COULD be used to do damage.
Where do you draw a line, and why do you draw it. I suspect its arbitrary.
Everybody take a deep breath. The log does not go to Apple, it stays on the phone. Apple is not tracking anybody, your phone is...but its your phone so where is the problem.
Worst case, maybe they should have encrypted the file.
Doubtful. If that was the case then GCC would not have been replaced with Clang and LLVM. And Apple would not have put LLDB into the open source domain.
Apple just does not like the GPL, but they have no problem with the BSD-style licensing.
How much money do you save migrating to Linux when marketing and sales use OS X and Windows with software for those OS's. You have to get all new software that runs under Linux, get everything running under Wine (for the Windows dudes) and provide support people to handle the training and issues. And the OS X guys are screwed, they can't run their software at all.
A friend of mine just colocated his server. The colo he used gave him 4 or 5 IP addresses for his single computer. Even though he is running VM's, he does not need 4 IP's.
This kind of thing is happening everywhere. Cleaning up that kind of junk will give us time to convert to IPv6

Microsoft Movement...for when you want the same shit you had last year.
Wow, a bit of hate on for Embarcadero?
Did you somehow miss the 'most' in my comment. It has what CLANG 3.1 supports which is quite a chunk.

I bet its food quality. The quality of our food has gone down as we try to get more and more off the land. Health care has gotten better though.
So people are staying alive longer but are less healthy.
Embarcadero's 64 bit compiler uses CLANG 3.1, so it has most of C++11

I logged in just for this!
Did your 2.5 year old device stop working. Has it become a brick because you can't load iOS 6 onto it.
I don't think so, it still has ALL of the functionality that you paid for originally.
Apple did not promise extra functionality when you purchased it and is not required to supply extra functionality.
You have to remember that your company has no loyalty to you. If their revenues drop and they have to save money, your job will be on the line!
Always do whats best for you and yours (family).
And the grammar nazi wins again. The article is now fixed. :-) Just pokin' a bit-o-fun.
Where is this place 'far'. And how do you get there.
Unless you meant gone 'too' far.
http://stackoverflow.com/ has experts that go there just to help with questions like this.
Where are the Amiga games. They were game changers, brought the arcade quality video and audio to the home....
Seems odd.

Big Deal.
Why not just install Windows on the macbook pro?
It'll install and work fine, but you can use BootCamp if you want to.

Gregor.
No corporation is required to have a succession plan. Why should Apple?
You are going to say that Steve is so important to Apples success and continued success that a plan should be required.
I'm going to say that Steve is one man that relies on many people to come up with a successful product.
If there is no law that requires a succession plan, then Apple should not be made to make a plan.
I SEE THREE PAGES!

Artificial cost savings.
You mean, like Toyota recalls cars?
Now that you mentioned it here, it probably won't take long at all.

Why would the 'Retina Display' eat its heart out over a research project that is probably years away from development.
Is there really a need for this on slashdot? Tell us about the new tech...leave the rest out.
