    So what about app developers that do not use Xcode 5? What if they use Mono or Embarcadero's Delphi or C++? Is this there way of killing of developer system competitors?

    Did you somehow miss the 'most' in my comment. It has what CLANG 3.1 supports which is quite a chunk.

    Is that still the case? I know 'way back when' that food had a great difference in height. But more than quality food it was quantity in the years needed. It was caloric intake. So does better food now, in 2013, increase the average height of the population?

    I bet its food quality. The quality of our food has gone down as we try to get more and more off the land. Health care has gotten better though.

    So people are staying alive longer but are less healthy.

    Embarcadero's 64 bit compiler uses CLANG 3.1, so it has most of C++11

    Quoting a lower ranked answer because I use 64 bit Embarcaderos compiler and find it quite nice.

    "Hmm, I looked at their website and see prices from $999 to $3999. The 64 bit compiler is included at the $999. Looks like all kinds of enterprise database stuff is in the $3999 version."

    Did your 2.5 year old device stop working. Has it become a brick because you can't load iOS 6 onto it.

    I don't think so, it still has ALL of the functionality that you paid for originally.

    Apple did not promise extra functionality when you purchased it and is not required to supply extra functionality.

    Everybody take a deep breath. The log does not go to Apple, it stays on the phone. Apple is not tracking anybody, your phone is...but its your phone so where is the problem.

    Worst case, maybe they should have encrypted the file.

    It'll install and work fine, but you can use BootCamp if you want to.

    Doubtful. If that was the case then GCC would not have been replaced with Clang and LLVM. And Apple would not have put LLDB into the open source domain.

    Apple just does not like the GPL, but they have no problem with the BSD-style licensing.

    No corporation is required to have a succession plan. Why should Apple?

    You are going to say that Steve is so important to Apples success and continued success that a plan should be required.

    I'm going to say that Steve is one man that relies on many people to come up with a successful product.

    If there is no law that requires a succession plan, then Apple should not be made to make a plan.

    How much money do you save migrating to Linux when marketing and sales use OS X and Windows with software for those OS's. You have to get all new software that runs under Linux, get everything running under Wine (for the Windows dudes) and provide support people to handle the training and issues. And the OS X guys are screwed, they can't run their software at all.

    Artificial cost savings.

    A friend of mine just colocated his server. The colo he used gave him 4 or 5 IP addresses for his single computer. Even though he is running VM's, he does not need 4 IP's.

    This kind of thing is happening everywhere. Cleaning up that kind of junk will give us time to convert to IPv6
