My thoughts exactly. Just clean up your store, take a bunch of pictures, post them to that forum, and issue a press release. You don't have to be a douche to protect your company's reputation.
I generally rail against companies that don't bother to make their stuff work in FireFox but I can't say that I blame Netflix here. It's not like requiring IE is actually preventing anyone from using the service. Everyone with windows has IE and the rest of the site works just fine in FireFox.
I'm seriously thinking about canceling my satellite TV service / DVR and just running with 360 & Netflix. For just under $300 a year, ($50 xblive, $20/mo to Netflix), as opposed to the almost $1000 a year that most cable/satellite companies charge for HD service, it's a great deal.
That's how I've been running. I'm already paying for Netflix and Xbox Live anyway... why pay to get cable and then be forced to watch commercials? My experience with Netflix so far has been that they're an intelligent company. Customer service is amazing and when they get something wrong (like the planned profile "update") they fix it quickly.
For me the streaming is less about movies and more about watching shows / novelty stuff that you wouldn't usually want to waste a rental on. I can watch a whole season of a TV show in a weekend if I want. It's great.
The movie selection doesn't matter as much because the picture and sound quality aren't as great as they are on the physical media anyway. If I want to watch a movie I'll wait for the BluRay to come in the mail and watch the magical 1008p hotness and hear the uncompressed audio.
For most TV shows that stuff doesn't matter. Do you really need to see The Office or 30 Rock in HD? I'm perfectly happy streaming those with no commercials to my xbox. I love it.
I've never had any trouble streaming Netflix through my XBox. I've watched three full seasons of various shows since the update was released and they've all worked flawlessly.
Exactly. This is a classic instance of creating more ridiculous laws, rules and regulations rather than simply enforcing what's already in place. I've seen the same approach used to try to "clean up" the Internet to get rid of child porn. Special filters and laws don't need to be created to ban child pornography from the Internet. There are already laws against it... just enforce them and leave the rest of us alone. To catch a predator is a great example - that show uses existing laws to nail those guys.
Yeah, I could honestly never decide whether he was just pausing for emphasis or whether he was saying "beets" - as you suggested. In this particular case "beats" served my purposes best so I chose to use that one. Now I'm curious if the show's writers have ever answered that authoritatively...
This is true. I remember when the rule of thumb was "Keep your entire page less than 50k or people will hate you". Now it seems like there are no rules. With the exception of flash pages people just throw whatever they want on there these days with no regard for image size or overall page size.
(Flash is only an exception because people realize that downloading a 20 MB site can make people leave in addition to costing more for bandwidth.)
Yes. Misleading summaries are bad enough but now we've got ridiculous titles too? Is slashdot turning into a tabloid? I might as well go read the national enquirer or something. I can learn about how Elvis invented the computer as we know it after being dropped off by space aliens in the middle of what is now silicon valley.
I am not a religious person, but by way of example; christians recognise the truth in transubstantiation when partaking in the sacrament of communion, yet it can hardly be claimed that factually wine becomes blood and bread becomes flesh.
FYI - that's catholics, not *all* christians believe that. Good example though!
It's cheap anyway... I've got 4GB and know people with 8. The new Core i7 based systems will have triple channel RAM - you'll need to fill all three slots for max speed. So you'll probably be running 6GB if you're a gamer... 120MB of RAM is a drop in the bucket at that point.
Steam is worth it. I install a new game and I don't have to find new friends or use some new community tools. I just hookup with my other pre-existing friends that bought the game too. Plus prepurchase download and early release is awesome. I was playing L4D 5 minutes after it came out. Good luck getting best buy to give it to you early.
The comment scores are all goofy now anyway. They all appear to be one less than the actual score when you're reading the comments in the discussion thread.
holy crap I was about to post the exact same thing. The style sheet is the least of it. I still haven't even figured out how to tell if anyone's posted a reply to any of my comments. Now you have to click every comment... and reading my entire comment on my user page is just useless. I already know what I said, I'm looking for the replies. This is supposed to be a "discussion" not "oooh, shiny, look at all the cool crap I wrote. I must be awesome. So awesome that every time I go to my user page I want to read what I wrote over and over."
When idle got jacked it didn't bother me because I almost never go there... but user pages? really?
If that were the case, the dealerships would have cronies driving around ramming into hundreds of people a day.
Why take the escalator when I can take the stairs? *steps down behind couch*

Willy Wonka had it right. We should just be doing that instead.
sonofa... where are mod points when you need them?

Also... awesome sig.

And they stop working and demand that you replace them when they're only down to one-eighth filled.
I look forward to seeing you on To Catch a Predator soon! ~

Why? He's right. It's ridiculous that you can send an e-mail using a webmail interface on your phone for less than it costs to send a text message.

Everybody knows that "bears beats battlestar galactica" anyway. They should just skip straight to a show about bears.

No thought indeed. They really only involve butterfly wings flapping.

Murphy: You know, on TV you always got that guy that jumps over the sofa.
Connor: And then you gotta shoot at him for ten fucking minutes, too.
