The problem with that I think is then you might get other athletes that actually *are* willing to amputate their legs to compete and they probably don't want to risk that. Still, he definitely has the "badass" factor going for him. The guy with no legs owns all the other runners. xD
But people who do sell pirated things think of it more as a service to people who cannot afford full legal copies. If these people did not exist, I highly doubt their buyers would be spending money on full-price dvds, cds, and software. It may seem like a rip-off to you, but their buyers probably don't have broadband internet to download the films themselves either. I don't think the music and film industry is losing any money on this form of piracy either.
Nah, this one was like, it would have a picture and a word and there was a dog head either nodding or shaking and you pressed spacebar to switch between nodding and shaking and enter to select. If the word was spelled correctly you wanted the dog head to be nodding. I also used to play this racecar/attack helicopter one where you would do math problems to get fuel and stuff and then played an avoid the other cars type of game.
For me it was this weird spelling game for MS-DOS where you had a mouse and this maze and little cat heads chased you around and dog heads were there that would temporarily protect you if you spelled a word right. Mazes got harder and more evil cat heads as the game went on. I used to play that game a lot as a little kid... I have no idea what it was called though.
I already use PGP for most of my emails. If they ever ask for my key I will forget and "accidentally" run a file shredder on my hard drive and clumsily drop it in a box full of neodymium magnets.:D Hire a good lawyer and you become the pimp while the US legal system becomes your ho. That's what it seems like these days anyways...
This is why you use 320kbps mp3s or flacs or something. Even with a $50 speaker set you can tell the difference from 128kbps mp3s. Personally, I prefer digital copies of music just because it is easier to handle and if you use near-lossless encodings you really don't notice the difference from a new record unless you *do* have a $20k sound system.
I don't know about you guys, but when I search for "call of duty 4" the first hit is http://www.callofduty.com/ which has call of duty 4 modern warfare as the main page. It even has an age restriction drop down menu to make sure you are old enough to view a site advertising a rated M game.
You know, I tried Vista twice (my school subscribes to MSDNAA so I got it for free) and both times I experienced so many bugs, program crashes, and severe lack of drivers that both times I went back to XP for my windows partition. The second time I tried it was this August. I figured that by then MS would have fixed all the major problems I had experienced on release. Needless to say I was severely disappointed. Even so, I don't really see what everyone thinks is so great about Ubuntu either. It seems to me to be the "Vista" of Linux distros. Debian will always remain my one true love.:)
I though Portal was amazing. The dry humor throughout the game was hilarious! Some people say the game was way too short, and yes, it was kind of short. Thinks of the thousands of 3rd party levels that will come pouring out though! Valve themselves said they "wanted to do more" so I expect valve-made levels to come in the future just like in counter-strike: source. Besides... GLaDOS is "still alive" right?;)
There was even going to be a party for you. A big party that all your friends were invited to. I even invited your best friend the companion cube. Of course, he couldn't come because you murdered him. All your other friends couldn't come either because you don't have any other friends because of how unlikable you are. -GLaDOS
Steam used to really suck, but recently it really hasn't been that bad. Valve has put a lot into improving it and now it has become a store for games, a way to preload games you have purchased, an automatic game updater, and IM service similar to xfire, and other stuff too. I used to hate steam, but these days I find myself not minding it at all.
Agreed. It's not like anyone can crack your generic public key encryption yet anyways. You'd have to have one hell of a computer to do it in any reasonable amount of time. They probably just thought the word "quantum" sounded cool. It has that "omg l33t h4x0r" or "oo shiny star trek technology" ring to it.;)
While critics will undoubtedly note that the majority of Canadians were unaware of net neutrality, that has not stopped other groups - including copyright lobby groups and the telcos - from commissioning similar surveys and reporting them as fact. Don't worry, I'm sure senator Ted Stevens will be glad to explain it to them...
Still, I agree with darjen.
Internet access is not a right. It is a service provided through someone's labor, with all the associated costs that entails. Why should network neutrality be enforced? You are choosing your ISP and paying them through your own volition, nobody is forcing you to choose one that doesn't support network neutrality. If it says unlimited access on my contract then by god they damn well better be giving me unlimited access, but otherwise there shouldn't be a law forcing ISPs to give everyone the benefits of network neutrality. Let them compete by offering it--why is there a need for legislation? o.O
Alright, here's an example of when you should check your sources before posting a news article. I thought this level of stupidity was reserved for Digg.com, but I guess I was mistaken. The site is temporarily offline due to hardware maintenance in their servers. It will probably be back up in a day or two.
It's only 10 levels so I don't think it will sell retail. I beat them already. It's just a bonus thing that comes with the package to try and sell the real peggle deluxe game. I probably won't buy it but DAMN that was entertaining. =)
Maybe try updating your drivers? It used to crash a lot on my laptop with a radeon x700 mobility drivers. I later found a way to crack the desktop drivers to work on a laptop - haven't had a problem since. I did notice the memory issue though. I never had a problem with it crashing the game, but on my old computer it used to take a minute or two for my ram to be cleared of the game after quitting.:o
Really? I find that rather hard to believe since source engine games run fine on my crap old desktop (p4 2.8GHz, 512MB ram, radeon 9600XT), albeit without the fancy effects and look like absolutely beautiful next-gen games on my new rig with a c2d e6420 @ 2.7GHz, 2GB DDR2 @ 850MHz, 8800GTS @ 585MHz. Hell, I even have friends that run it on computers with geforce fx5500s. Looks like shite, but hey it runs! I've never encountered any of these problems you describe.
What are you talking about. They just don't have them available for preorder as singles yet. I have never seen a game on steam that is *only* offered in a package. You can always buy them separately if you want to. You miss out on the beta but oh well. Personally I think episode 2 will be more awesome half life and portal looks like a very entertaining puzzle game. I don't mind buying the whole orange box either because if you look at the prices episode 1 and hl2 are essentially free with it anyways. Now I can even give them to somebody else.

That is insane! I need to get me one of those. :o

The smart car still lost compared with other compact cars though if you noticed.

I thought it had a solid state drive. :o
Portal for me... Nothing else that came out this year was even close. :)
And that's what protocol encryption is for. ;)
N Definitely the best online flash game there is. Why is there no mention of N in that article?! Line Rider is a close second though. :)

Source would be conversing with @s in #demonoid on p2p-net.
