"I would also think that David Lynch would be good for this type of adaptation."
I suppose he did a fair job of Dune*, if you watch the 3- or 4-hour versions. The 2-hour version is a little disappointing.
*And by Dune, I mean the 1980's film, not the complete and utter disaster that the SciFi Channel produced and called "Dune" which no doubt causes Frank Herbert's dearly departed soul to writhe in anguish and agony to this day.
I think you're being a little Harsh on the SciFi channel's Dune. I also happen to be a fan of a book called Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin, and have seen two movie versions of it (The one just released, and the one from the '20s or '30s), and two mini-series versions of it (one BBC at 4 hours, one A&E/BBC at 6 Hours), and while each one has its flaws, each one shows aspects of the stories the other ones miss.
In my experience in playing WoW on a PvP Server (Skullcrusher), it seems that while there are fewer members of the Horde, we seem to be older and more mature, with something of an understanding of strategy. The Alliance seems to attract those "OMG, kill t3h bad 0rcs" people, and anyone who can't stand the thought of not playing a pretty pretty elf.
I took it for six years, too. I was just wondering if you were misquoting it on purpose or on accident, say, to say, "Thus the Carthagenians were destroyed," instead of the usual.
"I would never support a lot of the stuff they're doing, but it would seem a bit more legitimate if they could show any of this stuff was actually having an effect."
To me, that's the scary part. Perceived legitimacy means that we'll be saddled with more and more BS like we've been getting.
I don't want to see effectiveness -- I want to see CLEAR and PRESENT DANGER.
Until then, get out and stay out, Uncle Sam.
Yeah, that's a great movie. Pick you up at seven, schnookums?
Spanish and Latin have similar conjugation. Compare and Contrast: Spanish/Latin: Teng-o/Habe-o: I have Tenga-mos(I believe)/Habe-mus: We have Tengar/Habe-re: To have
I think that's correct. I probably shouldn't type drunk.
and referring such policies as "racist" is a serious violation of the principle of cultural relativity.
Sir/Madam, I could cry right now, seeing that there is atleast one other person in the world who understands this (and may be an Anthropologist.) My mother is a Mental Health Technician doing clinical assessment, and runs workshops of Suicide so that other MHTs can get their continuing education credits needed to stay licensed, and we have gotten into many, many convesations that all focus around 'X is considered a mental illness in Y country but X is considered slightly strange or perfectly proper behaviour in Z country.'
It's good to see someone who understands it is wrong to make moral judgements about a culture from outside that culture's viewpoint.
P.S. Are you in the Rinzai school of Zen, or another?
As someone who spent 4 years actively studying Latin, and now reads it just to keep the language skill up, I can confirm that I can suss out alot of things written in a romance language, and can understand some spoken spanish, portugese and italian (italian is very easy,) but I cannot understand a god damn word of french.
When I go to the range I use cheap standard bullets, but when I load it for home defense, it's hollow point. Goes in with a centimeter, comes out with a decimeter.
Sir, I suggest you Trademark that phrase and enter Bullet Manufacturing.
But the Light from the Monitor is the only thing that keeps the Grues from killing you in your basement! Turn of the monitor and be eaten by a Grue, or leave it on and die of Radiation Poisoning... Oh, ours is a Cruel God!
Someone needs to brush up on their RGB color values...

Correction: "I love you" in Latin would be "Te Amo," Te being the accusative direct object form of the personal pronoun "Tu," or "You."

Illud Verbum. Dicebas. Non Cogito Dicet Quid Cogitas Dicet.
Deorbitable Cargo Containers? Pssh. Throw Rocks at 'em.
Yeah, that's a great movie. Pick you up at seven, schnookums?
So what you're saying is there is another person who wants to play The World from .hack?!
You live in Gainesville? You wouldn't happen to be on the Charter Review Commitee, would you?

One would think one would use a large bank of Capacitors?
Actually, we prefer to call them 'PS,' or 'Post Seizure,' when refering to those writings, mainly because they came after the good stuff.

What do you mean? Hurled from a Catapult or a Trebuchet?
As MikeHock@cox.net, I too, hate cox.

Bush likes Blizzard's games?
For the sake Flood Control Dam #3!!!
I'm fairly sure McCain is opposed to torture in truth -- and I think you would be, too, if you knew your history a little better.
Until you have been a prisoner, you can not know what it's like. Until you have been tortured, you can not know what it's like.
I think Senator McCain would do all he could to stop someone from being tortured.
And I, [sir/madam], am offended that you say you have a two-year old.
