  1. I've actually witnessed pedestrians walk right into traffic oblivious to the fact that a "Yield" sign does not protect them from injury. It's as if they don't understand that their lives have little significance compared to those who have to get to work on time. People drive cars to get places fast, any hindrance to that goal slows down society significantly.

    The wealthy would never have signed on if they didn't have a way to increase the despiraty between those who have and those who have not.

    Exactly!! The more poor people have to spend, the more rich people have to spend.

    ..."and to provide for the general welfare"...

    That clause alone justifies laws. regulations, and taxes aimed to improve the lives of the poor. It makes economic sense too because keeping poor people poor does not benefit the wealthy. A rising tide raises all boats.

    No objective measurements of pain, that is the problem. I've seen people with a simple toothache report their pain a 12 on scale of 10, while those who have tombstone ST segments and in the process of dying from a myocardial infarction say their pain is a zero. It's as if pain is a subjective thing or something. How is a physician to determine just how much a patient is hurting?
