How easy we, the media and some of us, get deceived by some people in the marketing world. However the world has gotten much more complicated so verifying sources is a hard thing to do but this verification needs to be done so we don't get the wool pulled over out eye in which this case Greenpeace did on Apple. This really doesn't help Greenpeace any in this "marketing" champaign against Apple and this will even more ammunition for the detractors of Greenpeace since now they have caught Greenpeace in a smear champaign.
I already read newspaper in electronic form on my Palm V PDA using AvantGo. I would like something a little lighter and easier to handle compared to the Palm. Also I like to have color rather than the black and white screen of the Palm V.
SwissAir flight 111 had this and did several other planes but not as fatal a Swiss Air flight 111. SwissAir flight 111 is a textbook case of the problems of this type of wiring. But as we want more "toys" on the plane the more this problem will grow. Another example of this is the Airbus A380 where the wiring between engineering and production are causing the delays of this airplane from getting out of the door. Yes the A380 is flying with air carriers colors but the interiors where passengers sit are not done because improper wiring specifications.
Yes, getting any object to orbit is the hardest part. You can make anything from nanosatillites (this object would qualify) to geosync communications satellites and send it to orbit if you have the money. Russia, China and several other countries will send your satellite to orbit or any other place in space. Amateurs have launched suborbital rockets in 2004 but getting to orbit is a a lot harder.
Here is the/. article about the amateur suborbital rocket:

This Nigerian has a great idea. Remember we, in the western world, have an advantage of over hundred years of steps and missteps before we got to this state of flight but even then we still have accidents. Remember that Niger doesn't have a state of the art aeronautical program hence the large amounts of accidents there and most of Africa so like the western world in the early part the heavier than air flight they need some help and good engineering to get up to speed. This person who built this, like any kit plane, has the understanding of principal of aerodynamics and physics so this is a start but he needs later understand material sciences to get to the next level. Remember he is a under graduate in college so he still has much to learn so give this person a break. We geeks have built enough things in our lives and most of them break and we learn from those experiences so we can do better on the next try and this learning process will go on forever so if he crashes, as long as he doesn't kill himself or other s he an try again and learn.
And all non-white people in world are criminals and non-intelligent... let me do an PCR DNA test to see if you are really "white".
This form of bullshit needs to stop. Why do use the method of "banning or limited the use of" the device or way as an method to prevent "criminal activity". We need to stop the criminals, who ever they are, not use banning or limiting the use of the device or way to get criminal. This method of banning or limiting the use of device or way affects all of us, the innocent and the criminals, the same way. The problem with this method you are punishing the innocent for nothing they have done and this is wrong.
This is similar principal that Oracle uses, if you can't get the market share then buy the company that owns that market share. Microsoft is copying Oracle at their own game. But Microsoft has more money than Oracle but I would like to see companies like BEA say "Put it where the sun don't shine".
I just wish more companies where like that.
It sounds like the Fleetwood Mac song called "Stand back". Here is the YouTube video if you like:

But back to your original subject of step back which will be great feature. I had enough times due to late nights that lost track what the heck I did to get that error what forgot what location I did it at.
We need to have some level of protection when we give our information away. I seen all of the bad example out there even for the big companies like TJX. But for the small and medium size business they don't have the resources, or at least want to release these resources, to protect this data in this manner. I understand this from both side and the legislature should create a bill that has this protections for the consumers but for the small to medium sized business which can prove that they cannot afford such a system that they some for of tax break or something so they can get the system to protect us in California and hopefully this will spread to to the rest of the country.
I remember AOL had the easiest network/internet browser interfaces and it is a pity that no one has taken advantage of this. I remember in the 1990's that most companies that wanted to make a interface good simple User Interface (UI) used "AOL" as an example of a good interface to the common person. My boss at that time said that AOL is a interface that a grandparent can use the internet. For us geeks may look at the AOL interface as stupid but for the common person that doesn't have a degree in CS this is a simple to use interface common people could understand. It is a pity that Time Warner, AOL or anyone else could have patented (correct me if I'm wrong if they did) this interface and made money from it.
Remember they already curtail and track the buying a large amounts of high grade ammonium nitrates and and large volume purchases of diesel fuel after Oklahoma City Bombing. However, this doesn't stop the idiots and other terrorist getting other supplies to do evil deeds. Again we are in a mentality of blocking, curtailing or tracking the sale certain objects will stop these people. The objects by themselves don't do anything and used properly can benefits us.
Back to the subject of allowing you to get on a airplane. This list method doesn't work well since a determined terrorist will use a stolen identity to get on the airplane. Also the list of names will be redundant since there could be more than one John Smith and you can be that John Smith that is not the terrorist they don't want on the plane and now you are banned because your name is on the list for some reason. I remember that Edward Kennedy was on the "no-fly" list and here the one of the Washington Post URL about this:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A17073-2004Aug19.html
Who would have thought that not being president in 2000 would lead him to get an Academy Award, an Oscar and now the Nobel Prize.
I think I would rather win all of these awards than be president anyways with all of the stuff that is going on now.
I think Al Gore is correct about global warming and I hate to scratch biblical or poetic, what if we win the war on terrorist but destroy the entire world to environmental disaster what would we have gain?
Again, congratulations to Al Gore and his colleagues for promoting peace in the world.
I my sysadmin dreams I wish that he was in my mail server sorting through all of my messages.
I would like to wish that this would put a tiny dent in the spam but he doesn't need to be alive to send spam since he has this millions of his bots doing it for him. Killing this female donkey external orifice will stop the money, I hope, but we need to get his system to stop his bots from sending out all of his fecal matter.
Let me see who is going win this contest of patents; Google or Sun?
Sun used a bunch of E420 server and A3500FC storage arrays in center of the isle racks. Cisco had Catalyst 6509 switches distributed with patch panels. Liebert had Mini-Mate AC units to cool all of this and 600 series UPS and Precision Power Center that was connected directly to a transfer swtich which was connected to an generator and utility power. We had all of this in a extra shipping container that we had for the W2K in 1999 for the "ultimate" disaster which didn't dome. Did anyone patent this at this time, I don't think so but we at my old company had this running for over a year from 1999 to 2001 and then the project came to an end and all of the servers, storage, switch and all other parts where used for other projects in my workplace and the shipping container was used to emergency supplies for the company.
I remember that someone filed a patent of this idea already:
http://www.freshpatents.com/Throttle-cable-disconnection-apparatus-and-method-dt20060427ptan20060086199.php
And how much uproar it got from/. since it an cracker (doing evil) or a hacker (just to prove a point) can attempt to break into this system to disable your car in a dangerous location and the cracker will do evil to you or have the hacker show that it can be done.
OnStar system is a great tool but I don't even mind that it can track my stolen car if it is stolen and all of these things that I like are passive devices but disabling the car is active and it is dangerous since, like all devices, can be misued.
You are correct. Maybe they are mixing up nitrous oxide for the dentist or dragsters and the nitric oxide in this story. In any case this study is funded by this company and the school so I would like to have a peer review and experiments from 3rd parties we can make sure these results aren't skewed.
The RIAA/MPAA hates the CD/DVD/Blueray/HD-DVD recorder makers and the creators of the P2P networks. If they data stays where it remains the RIAA/MPAA can't do anything to you.
I used to work with Sun at my previous workplace (which shall remain nameless) about this issue for putting a small mobile data center in 1999 for the Y2K problem for this emergency. We put a mini-data center with AC, network, server and disk storage in a extra shipping container that we had to store emergency supplies. We had Liebert to install power and AC. Cisco for network and Sun for servers and disk storage. If anyone is to seek a patent on this my old company, Sun, Cisco and Liebert which made one in 1999.
When I was going to college this was the "Journal of Irreproducible Results", a comic relief for such "wound up" scientist and researchers. I remember one issue with the cover page picture of a shark liver cell that happen to look like a shark.
Are you that old?!
Gee I hope this threat doesn't apply anymore. I think at that time they had limited disk space and "useless" comments just wasted disk space.
Ditto. Where did I put my keys?! Hey where am I?
