    Sorry but the OP states it's over budget and overdue. Well if you look at the original budget & deadline yes this is correct, however, subsequently the scope of the project has been massively increased which consequently increased the budget and time scale. Its not due to fly until 2018 and has still cost less than the Hubble.

    Basically the article doesn't give enough detail. It doesn't say whether the strings were created using the base string objects in Java/Python or using the much more efficient stringbuilder objects. The former would be horrendously slow. Also what was the base setup of the machines being tested on how much memory did they have? did their disk controllers have built in cache? What kind of disks were used.

    He's lucky he limited himself to one session. Imagine if he'd tried to performance test it with a DDOS attack the dude could have died 50,000 times and some wanker on facebook would still be complaining about the latency and not enough kittens

    Doubt they'd be stupid enough to build the browser into the operating system since they got fined billions for doing that with IE and Windows98 and the authorities which imposed those fines will be watching like hawks. No doubt tho they'll still pull stunts like redirecting www.google.com to bing if you forget to put http:/// infront of it.

    Find me a democracy (Outside of a Kibbutz) where the average voter is empowered! In most democracies there are usually two parties that most people vote for (Both of which are different shades of shit). Nobody ever votes for the other candidates because they don't think they can win so instead they select a shade of shit and vote that way. Sound Familiar?

    From what I can tell 8.1 Update is having some installation issues meanwhile the Server Update Service is having issues with SSL. All very embarrassing for MS I'm sure.
