Still very much alive, but in an increasingly saturated market with no original ideas. Their biggest problem is that they tried to appear as the "fashionable" hardware brand. Things eventually go out of fashion. People already have all the tech hardware that they want. That's why companies like MS, Google and Amazon have moved into cloud. Apple is being left behind.
Looks like Apple and most of the phone making industry have run out of ideas. What they are producing is a bog standard rectangular phone with all the same apps that are on nearly all other phones. Phones are at a point where they have peaked. Slightly faster cpus and slightly better cameras won't justify the cost of an upgrade. People do need phone, but no longer the latest and greatest. App developers want to target as many users as possibe so that means coding apps in such a way that they can well on older hardware.
I get my phones direct from China anyway. Xiaomi in particular make nice phones, but I'm sure there are others. Don't see the point in paying for the US/South Korean markup when it's all made in China
If this was a smaller company that released a 4 day smartwatch, would slashdot give it coverage? How about supporting the little guy instead if just giving a free ad to the big guys.
Some people need to work a lot with images. This includes tech guys who want to send/receive screenshots and anyone who works in construction or logistics who need to send photos. It makes sense to be able to paste images.
The major ISPs block so many sites in the UK. In order to access the illegal download sites you have to put some work into circumventing these blocks. It's more convenient to pay £10 an month than to find proxies and put them into your browser. Lots of times the proxies only last a short while. You're also putting yourself at some risk by using dodgy proxies. So, the great firewall has worked because streaming is affordable and easier than block busting.
Paying £10 a month for netflix or spotify is better value than the old model of having to pay £10 for a cd or DVD.
Not a bad idea. Google is manipulating results too much. Search engine results need to be relevant, so there does need to be some AI involved, but not to the point where it gives some sites advantages over others.
Ash trays are outside in Europe.
He's not paid, he's just special
No but Holland doe not live in the stone age.

How quaint and old fashioned. Kind of like living in the stone age.
They lost that chance when Vista came out Linux fanboys failed to take advantage of that. And again with Windows 8. Windows 10 is long term/
Too dangerous.

They do. They also don't need to read politically obsessed nu tjobs from the US airing their dirty underwear on every news article they read.

Exaggeration dramatica
Censorship is telling a private company how to run their own site.
After recent headlines I fail to see why anyone with a brain would be using facebook?
Hehe, you sound like that crazy NSA obsessed woman from orange is the new black. You need to take your meds.
Not much source code in there. It's certainly not the code for the whole app.
Nice conspiracy theory, Alex.

Or people who want an easy way to communicate with friends and family. FB is pretty dumb, but WAPP is a decent way to organise logistics.
Much drama
You're one person out of 7.6 billion. Your inflated opinion of yourself is ridiculous.
Basically laziness wins.

The grammar police are here to arrest you. Please get on the floor and don't move.
