    I saw a lineup outside Future Shop (like Best Buy here in .ca) when the Zune went on sale. Mind you, this was at noon, they were passed out and clutching paper bags as people stepped over them to get in the store to buy iPods.

    I installed Atomic Web Browser ($.99) on my iPad as I wasn't sure about jailbreaking it. My 3GS is jailbroken but it's caused a few issues. And os 4 looks pretty nice.
    but year, Firewall IP is awesome, the calls home you mention are quite the eye opener.

    Sure, then you just get it confiscated and the footage mysteriously disappears.

    I've been thinking that it'd be neat to have a wireless camera which streams wireless and encrypted to the actual recording device. One person could have the camera while a friend nearby has the recordings save in his pocket.

    You buy a tape drive nice ($$$) and add as many tapes as you want for long term storage. LTO4 is backward compatible in reading older LTO tapes. Where I work the money is in the data not the hardware. Hardware is just a commodity: our data is worth a fortune.

    We do: 48 tape LTO library at my location. Very fast, very safe.

    Rather than knuckle under to anti-free speech zealots, they should have let the people in Pakistan raise enough of a stink about it to the government and (hopefully) have the block lifted.
