Sure contrary examples exist (ie.: I had a 10 Mbit USB ethernet box which OpenBSD worked with just fine but Windows needed an external driver for) What I was referring to were new devices working with older OSs.
I've seen installs of Windows that lacked the Ethernet drivers for the onboard Ethernet...as well as half the other stuff on the mobo...
That's why the NIC/video/sound/whatever-card manufacturers include a disc with the drivers. It's hardly fair to expect MS to have drivers on a Windows install disc for a new gigabit NIC released after the OS.
The Philips DVP642 is quite old now and chokes on busy divx/xvid scenes (helicopter blades, water with lots of waves, etc.) I have one and it's nice for raw mpg files or PAL playback but my main one is now a Panasonic upconverting unit (S52?) and it's much nicer. A few more bucks but nicer playback. For xmas we picked up some newer Philips players that support some new divx thing (extreme? supreme? I forget now) and they were CA$49.99.
10/20/30 years from now it is likely that similar circumstances will apear and no one will be better able to handle the situation.
Well then hopefully people will learn from the history of 10/20/30 years previous. "Don't lie to the people about why you're going to war" might be a good place to start.
If one VOIP costs $19.99/month and has call centers in India, and another costs $39.99/month and employs only American citizen call agents, which one will you choose?
Friends and I would stay up all night smoking pot and playing Nintendo. Around dawn we'd be useless sacks of shit. I still freak out thinking of the "Death" monsters in Gauntlet.
Who cares? The bible is just a dusty old story book from the late Roman Iron Age. I don't own one, have never owned one and don't plan do. Green Eggs and Ham is better storytelling and less violent.
It would be a good idea if it actually worked. They were able to obtain material to make at least one atomic bomb, hardly the type of item you see at Best Buy.
I'm 40 and have had consoles since the Odyssey, probably before you were born.:P
Unlike yours, my reply had some reason to it: the submitter is 44 and mentioned arthritis. The games I suggested are quite involved, give a lot of game play for the $ and don't require extensive hammering of the controller thus saving his hands. You could probably suggest some fighting games for him but his hands would be crippled in a few weeks.
Atheism is a religion like not collecting stamps is a hobby. I doubt you were ever really an atheist, probably a borderline agnostic. Most atheists come to their conclusions by reason and don't look back, so unless you had a head injury that made you lose reason...
Stay in school. You might get an early start on the ones that go to college/university but they'll almost always come out on top in the long run. In 5 or 6 years you might be answering to an old high school alumni as your boss.
My RealDoll will have me arrested for rape.

Packet-rewriting firewalls, here we come
Has been done for years.

You don't need a cracker. There are several utilities that will zero out the admin password using direct disk access from a boot floppy/CD/USB key.
True, it's not "cracking" the password but you have a null admin password in just a few minutes. (google for "hiren's boot cd" for one example)
Makes sense that they plan their future. Pre-arranged funerals can ease the burdon on the survivors.
Oh wait, this isn't about BSD?
A well done rootkit is hard to detect... if you can't find a rootkit on your system then it's probably too late.
Go here now.

Neither, I'm not an American and am cell-only.
Call your VOIP carrier's helpdesk and you might get hold of some guy in India.

Where did I ever say my original post (which was meant to be tongue in cheek) was based on science?

65 million years is crazy-talk, that's 64,994,000 years before God made the Earth!

1) Thief: Deadly Shadows (actually any of the Thief series but you specified console)
2) Oblivion.
A few weeks at the Betty Ford Clinic is a great way to disconnect.
This ultra-intense laser blast creates true 'black metal'
Rubbish, true 'black metal'
(sniff... brings back memories of seeing them in '83.)
What if I stood up in class and said "I accept Jesus as a fucking cunt!"
Does that kind of acceptance get me eternal happiness?

Nah, "you" was a general "you" :P
