How many indictments and convictions does Mueller have to produce before people stop this stupid idea that he isn't getting anything done?
If there was Russian collusion, then I hope that charges and convictions are coming. I would think that we would have heard about it by now at least. But So far, that's not what we've seen. Here's what's come of the Mueller investigation to date:
George Padadopoulos: Found guilty of making false statements to the FBI.
Paul Manafort: indicted on 25 counts, mainly financial crimes in relation to work with Ukrainian politicians. All prior to working for Trump
Rick Gates: Plea deal for false statements and conspiracy in relation to finances related to working with Manafort. Prior to working for Trump
Alex van der Zwaan: False statements to the FBI about his contacts with Rick Gates.
Michael Flynn: Making false statements to the FBI
Richard Pinedo: Identity theft in connection to three Russian companies and/or a dozen or so Russian nationals. No relation to Trump that's been reported.
A dozen Russian officers have been charged in relation to hacking Democrats emails. Another dozen Russian nationals and three Russian companies were indicted in relation to a propaganda campaign during to the 2016 election. None have been shown to have any connection to Trump.
Michael Cohen: Trump's lawyer pleaded guilty to tax evasion and bank charges in relation to his own personal/corporate finances. Additionally campaign finance violations related to Stormy Daniels et. al. As far as I know, this is the only thing that could even conceivably stick to Trump. But it's campaign finance. Many politicians have been caught for this over the years. Damn near every politician could be convicted for this. It's a nothing charge and certainly has nothing to do with Russian collusion.
If there is any evidence of collusion between Trump and any foreign entity, there has been no report of it to date. This investigation has been going for over a year and a half now. If there was any evidence of collusion, you would think something would have come out by now. The public should be demanding Mueller's head if he's known for over a year and a half that the president of the United States colluded with Russia and sat on it through half of his term.
You know what I want in a laptop? One that's function over form again. One that's function over form again. It can be an inch thick for all I care if it means a good battery and airflow so it lasts forever and doesn't throttle the cpu all the time. I want more screen options than just aspect ratios meant for watching movies. I want ports so I can hook up peripherals again. I want some level of upgradeability where I can install a pointless amount of ram and extra drives if I so choose. I want a decent ass keyboard that doesn't feel like oatmeal when I type and has a sensible layout.
That's why my last three laptops have been Dell Precision M laptops. I used my last one for 5 years. I would still be using it, but I needed more then 2GB of video RAM. It did need a new battery, but if not for that and the VRAM I'd still be using it now.
My last one weighed 10 or 11 lbs. The new one is 7 lbs. My biggest complaint is that I couldn't get it with a built in optical disk drive this time. My second biggest issues is that Windows has some issues with scaling on a 17 inch 4K display. It's annoying as hell, but I blame Microsoft for that rather than the hardware itself.
If I'm running it on battery with no power saving options I get about 2 hours out of the battery. With power saving turned up I can get around 7 hours out of the battery. I currently have 32GB of RAM, but I think it maxes out at 128. There are three drive bays in the one I have. I currently have a 1TB SSD and a 2TB spinning disk. The keyboard isn't fantastic, but I'm happy for it being a laptop.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do if/when I need a new one as they have been cutting back on the ports. But I'll worry about that when the time comes.
I'm going to have to add the word "obfuscate" and its variations to my global warming story drinking game. I already had "denier", "alarmist" "fud" "Hitler", "degree(s)", "models", "dire", "Nazi", "statistics", "ice" "hockey stick". But you just added 3 shots with you post alone.
Which is the best use for aircraft carriers nowadays. If sent into battle they would take thousands of decent sailors down with them.
Carriers aren't meant for conflicts against countries with a modern military these days. Countries with a military similar to what South Africa has is a different story.
I'd guess that a single carrier group has about as many personnel as the entire South African Navy. A Nimitz class carrier air wing has at least 40 F-18 super hornets. The South Africa airforce has 26 Gripen fighters.
Just take the US government to court, and the next time an aircraft carrier stops in Capetown, have it impounded to collect on your line.
Is it possible for an aircraft carrier to dock at a port in Capetown?
Does the entire South African military have enough firepower to take on a US Navy carrier group? It's not like those go anywhere alone. I would guess that the airplanes on a single carrier outmatch the entire SA air force. The carrier group also has at least a missile cruiser, and at two destroyers.
While carriers are ineffective in conflicts against Russia or China, South Africa is the type of military that they are very effective against.
Who wants this? The TV in our living room gets used very little. My daughter plays video games on it occasionally, and we might turn it on twice a month.
My daughter watches most things on her phone and my wife uses her tablet. From what I see from her friends, it's not much different in other households. The exception being homes with toddlers. But good luck doing office work when they want to watch Barney, or whatever it is they watch these days.
I have a projector in the basement that I'll watch movies on as well. But these days I'm the only one who uses it. I certainly don't want to do office work on it either. So I don't understand why Samsung thought this would be a selling point. Perhaps 15 years ago, before everyone had a personal device with them at all times. But it seems kind of silly to me to do this in 2018.
This planet is 100 times farther than Earth is from the sun (120 AU from the sun)
The last time I checked the definition of an AU was the mean distance of the earth from the sun. Which makes the earth 1AU from the sun. If the planet is 120AU from the sun that would make it 120 times farther not 100.
You sound like you might have some good ideas to share. Try running for office and be a help to the community. Or, do you just like to complain about others?
Maybe 150 years ago I would have agreed with you. Hell even 50 years ago before the internet. But who in their right mind would want to run for office today? No sane person would want their life dragged through the mud and shit like that now. Every stupid thing that you ever did would be put under a magnifying glass and taken completely out of context or judged by today's standards as opposed to when they took place. Even worse, all of the crap that you didn't do that you will be accused of.
The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline launched an 800 line in 2004, many believe the number is too long and cumbersome for those reaching out in their time of need.
I'm having some difficulty in believing this. Picking up the phone and dialing 7 more digits is more cumbersome than committing suicide?
I really don't mean to make light of this, but I just can't see someone holding a gun ready to kill themselves and thinking that if only there was a 3 digit number they could call everything would be fine. But instead of a 10 digit number they would choose to pull the trigger.
If this is the case, why not mandate all phones have a built in single button speed dial to the suicide hotline? I mean 3 digits it just so long and cumbersome. At least a trigger pull and a single button are both a single action. Plus the speed dial button will take less force than a trigger.
Shortest flight from NYC to Sydney I could find was 20 hours. 20 hours vs 30 minutes... You care to revise that prediction at all?
Nope. If I can find a flight on a standard airlline for $1k, I sure won't pay 10 or $20k. To cut the travel time. I know there are people that find this is worth doing. But it's not something that a large part of the population is going to do, or even be able to afford.
NYC to Australia which otherwise take a very long time. Tickets would sell like hotcakes.
It depends on the price. If it's 1.5 or 2x the cost of a standard economy class ticket, yes it will do very well. If the price is 10 or 20X the cost of a first class seat on a standard airline, no, not so much. There may very well be a market even at that price, but people will not be going crazy over it.
Chunk Norris was born in March 1940. By 1942, all dinosaurs besides birds were extinct
Little known fact, in 1942 a toddler Chuck Norris visited the natural history museum and accidentally stumbled on a Megladon jaw on display. In doing so he impacted it so hard that the force reverberated back through time causing the extinction of the entire species.

Are we not supposed to write about the action figures we used to play with too?
That depends on who owns the IP I would guess.

But they confirmed the "feet"........

Isn't that how the earth was made?
So much for the 'thin design'. So you may as well have bough a gadget with thicker dimensions and a bigger battery. Flag as Inappropriate
Many of us would very much like to. But no manufacturer is selling a flagship model as you've described.
