In the Illinois case, the green arrow was obscured just enough to appear to be a full green.
And unless "obscured just enough" means that it magically moved from the 4th light from the top to the 3rd light from the top, then the driver should have known that it wasn't a full green. Lights go from the top: Red, Yellow, Full Green, Green Arrows for a reason.
If there were only 3 lights and the 3rd was an arrow, then that means that there was also a sign indicating that one MUST turn at this intersection. Now if that sign was also obscured AND there were only 3 lights, then the accident is excusable.
Profits are not declining, they only want to make you think that they are. Look up Hollywood Accounting in wiki. Essentially, it's a sneaky technique that "hides" profits and allows you to pay less taxes while complaining that you're not making any money.
When I interned I wasn't even paid and that was in 2000.
What you need to ask the company is for a job description listing the tasks that they will make you perform. Once you have that you can decide whether or not to work for them.
Once you actually start working, if your daily tasks don't jive with the initial job description then you can see your supervisor about it.
I actually don't pirate games but I can understand some of the reasons why other people do. I too would be pissed off if I spend 60$ on something that I can't even play because of shoddy DRM or it's bugged to hell.
To counter this issue, I've just stopped buying games on launch, which I used to do.
Removing intrusive DRM schemes from their products is a good start, the next step is to release their software "when its done" instead of on an arbitrary date decided by the Marketing department. I'm reminded of the lastest SOCOM on PS3 that 2 of my friends bought, but couldn't actually play for a month until the patch came out... we're not talking about some obscure hardware issue like in PC gaming where each machine is different, we're talking about a freaking console! They're all built the same! How can you release something that doesn't even work??
Wait... since when does WoW focus on "casual" gamers? I'm sorry, but a game that I have to play often just too feel that I have made my 15$/month worthwhile isn't what I call "casual".
Pumping in hour after hour just to get your character to the level cap and then even more hours coordinating a large scale assault on a creature just to get the left boot of butt-kicking just to restart the next day and hope that you'll get the right boot that time and not a 2nd left one is FAR from casual gaming... that sounds pretty hardcore to me...
As for the casual game numbers being higher... perhaps that's because those games were actually more fun? Besides GTA IV, was there anything else "harcore" of note last year? People don't buy hardcore games, they buy GOOD hardcore games.
I totally agree with the above. Innovation is a good thing, for sure, but it's not everything. But a game doesn't necessarily need innovation to be a hit.
One of my favorites of late is Bioshock. How does it innovate? It doesn't... the graphics are really nice (like all the other FPS that came out around the same time), it's run and gun with objectives (not quite a simplistic as red key > blue key > yellow key but still, same concept), you can customize weapons (not new) and you have powers (magic spells + mana if you will). What made the game fun? The story was engaging, just like a good novel. The environments were original (art deco under the sea) and the sheer scope of what you could see/explore made the game fun. Some argue that it is a dumbed down version of System Shock, to which I reply: "Yeah, so?".
To me, it's like reading multiple novels by the same author. Why do you do it? You like the writing style and the stories keep you engaged. Who cares if they don't use some newfangled totally obtuse new gimmick?
Don't forget that currently, many places don't even allow you to use a Segway (in Montreal, you can only use them in parks) so I doubt this thing'll be allowed to go anywhere.
Ditto, why are critical systems STILL connected to the internet? What's wrong with having the critical systems on an intranet and give acces to the internet to workstations.
If your mission critical system needs to send out an email to tell you it's dying, just find another way to get informed of the situation!
I didn't see you complaining when truckloads of "let's kill Nazis" games came out... And don't anybody say that was different. Not all Germans were Nazis, just as not all Iraquis were insurgents.
This is history, it happened, for better or for worse. Better off remembering it (either in film, print or gaming) then forgeting it even happen. Don't look at it as glorifying heroic deeds, look at it as a history lesson that you can actually "live" through yourself, that's how I see Call of Duty, Battlefield 1942, et al.
Easy, the couple will eventually break up and then the ex-boyfriend will post the pics online and/or pass them to his guy friends. If you weren't smart enough to see that one coming, well too bad for you. Lesson learned.
You can tell a kid that riding his bike without holding the handlebars is dangerous and he'll get hurt. Either he listen to you or he doesn't, falls, gets hurt and then understands the lesson.
If we keep on preventing kids from learning stuff on their own we're going to get a generation of people who can't think for themselves... what a lovely world that'll be...
I'm no science geek but, how can they be sure that air quality is the only factor that needed considering? I'm sure that air quality plays a big part, but didn't medical detection/treatment technology improve from 1978 to 2001? Couldn't that account for the longer lifespan?
Let me lay it out for ya (pun intended): Foreplay is something you would typically do before sex to get your partner in the mood. Except of course when you pay for sex (402). Regardless of what women say, they do care if you have a small penis (416) and if the chick was purely in it for the sex, then obviously she'd GTFO as soon as you are done (410), notice that I said YOU are done (refer back to 416).
Since the makers of said "property" said that it's their property and not yours. Haven't you been paying attention? They say that when you buy a game, you're buying a non-transferable license which happens to come with physical media as a "bonus".
You could have high level articles with your procedures and within those links to item definitions which are in their own articles.
Just like when reading about WWII on wiki, you can click on Eastern Front which would lead you to another article and within that one you could click on Battle of Stalingrad, and so on and so forth.
I believe the concept would apply quite well to your predicament. Maintenance should be rather straighforward as well.

Isn't it a bit odd that the country that invented the Kama Sutra wants to ban pr0n?
That'd be like the US banning fried food.
FTFA: "George's genius was realizing where games were going and taking it to the next level"
Make that: "George's genius was realizing where games were and then trying desperately to catch up"
There, fixed it for ya.

Yup, like Penny-Arcade

You're right, consoles never have these issues...
You didn't hear about Ghost Recon for the PS3 that was unplayable until the patch came out 1+ month later?
If it really is a driver issue, then I think that the problem lies with a lack of communication between the game industry and the video card industry.
When I interned I wasn't even paid and that was in 2000.

I'm with you on this one. Just because they represented an entity which is despised, it doesn't mean that they're no good at what they do.

OK, but where does the Film Actor's Guild (FAG) fit into all of this? What do they have to gain from North Korea being able to nuke Japan?
Guess North Korea just wants to be big in Japan.
Cuz you're not in Europe?

Hell yeah I do, just not MALE full frontal nudity :)
So when the servers go offline I'll still be able to play the game that I bought, great!
How do I re-install it on my new/reformated computer if I DON'T HAVE THE EFFING MEDIA AND THE SERVERS TO DOWNLOAD IT NO LONGER EXIST!
Answer that smarty-pants.

Don't worry man, they said that they don't do evil.
They wouldn't lie to us... would they? 0_o
Huge "woosh" indeed...

Lemme get this straight... you can "own" the news now? So, whichever reporter arrives at the scene first is the only one allowed to cover the event?
Were not talking plagiarism in this case, the AP is saying that since they covered the news first, nobody else can. WTF?
