  2. buy one?... thats not the ways things work here on New Air Conditioner Process Cuts Energy Use 50-90% · · Score: 1

First, we find a new technology that will make a HUGE impact.
Second, we find ways to introduce it piecemeal over a 5 year period... such as find ways to make said new technology less efficient... Once we figure that out,
Then and only then can we begin production working our way up to 50% over the 5 year term.
After that, we look for a new technology to compete and confuse the consumer while we ramp up to 90% efficiency.

So, you see you're not getting a new Air conditioner that will use 50%-90% less energy in the next year or so... You MIGHT get one that one next year that uses 10-15% less energy if your lucky...

It'll also cost you 20%-30% more.

  19. Re:This doesn't prove ants can count on Ants That Can Count · · Score: 1

I think you both have a valid point here.

A drummer would of course not tell you how many times they hit all their drums, but they also generally have mental markers of sorts along the way in the song to let them know just how far they are.

    this could be:
outside markers, such as another instrument playing along / another ant playing its part.
    or
inside markers, such as one specific drum in the sequence or they way in which said drum is hit / with 6 legs the ant could be doing one in the same. playing a beat while walking and every now and then one leg does something different giving the ant its markers...

this could be a form of 'counting subconsciously'

Ask a Drummer how many times they hit one drum (the drum they hit the least) in one song, and they likely be able to tell you. as this is likely a marker for them too. but they also never really thought of it before.

Personally i would rather see Wal-mart go up in flames... (Amazon [US] seems to be playing the same game now too though so i'm not so sure anymore.)

Does Amazon practice the same methods of Business as Wal-Mart? That is, telling their suppliers what they will pay for the product and then selling it for the price they want.

Frankly, unless you have a patent of some kind, like Lego, or Apple, you don't stand a chance with out selling your soul to them. They'll just find someone else who can import from China or the like for less. creating unrealistic competition in the market place.

people say that the consumers only wins in wars like this... but i beg to differ.. it time, this is the worst thing for us. A disposable society costs more than one that builds itself on lifetime quality.
