    I also have a $99 Chinese GPS. It is such a hack job, I doubt very much they paid Microsoft anything.
    Maybe I will figure out how to put Linux on it some day. :)
    As much as I dislike Microsoft, I will give them credit for one thing, they really were key in turning the PC into a commodity. Without the PC becoming a commodity, it would never have become cheep enough for OSS to really take off. I am sure I am not alone in having installed Linux onto a spare computer.

    Shaw sucks. I once waited all day for their tech to show up, to replace my modem. (I didn't want to change it out, they did.) He/she never did show. When I called they wouldn't even give me an expedited appointment. I had to wait 2 weeks for their next weekend appointment.

    The only good that I can say is they are not as bad a Telus.

    I have not really seen this behavior, but have seen it get stuck doing some kind of indexing forever, or at least until I restart Thunderbird.
