What happens when you can't buy gas engine cars anymore
Way ahead of you there. I got my motorcycle licence over the summer, and am beginning the process of converting my current car from gasoline to diesel, then to biodiesel.
Automatic transmissions are Evil!
The last thing I want is something in my car that I don't have complete control over. I will never own a car with an automatic.
As someone who is still recovering from H1N1, I think I can safely say that playing video games was not even on my list of things I had any desire to do.
The funny thing about that is that as left-wing and sissyfied as we've gotten, you'll likely be called a bully yourself
Sadly, you are probably right, and that is a sad commentary on the state of civilization. More and more often, I feel the urge to move to a cabin in the woods. At least 100 Miles from the nearest person.
Ask Megan Meier's parents how well that's working out for them.
If your child is so fragile that they commit suicide due anything that happens online, they are not going to make it, and as a parent you have done a terrible job of raising them.
For some reason, every time I hear about some idiot attempting to stop bullying I feel an overwhelming desire to find them and beat some sense into them. I say that as a former victim of bullying. Anything done from the outside is doomed to failure, and usually just makes things worse for those being bullied.
That said, there is a simple solution. I call it growing a backbone! Tried, tested and true.
Step 1, Grow a backbone.
Step 2, Walk up to Bully and look them square in the eye.
Step 3, Break Bully's freaking nose!
Step 4, Profit.
You may still take a beating after this, but odds are it will be your last. The only think a bully respects is force.
Good luck to them attempting to gain access to my network.
I keep my network clean, but due to some of the contracts we deal with, I could tie them up for years before they could legally set foot on the premises. I dislike bullys, so I would make a point to screw them as hard a possible.
I did it with a typo in a bash script.:(
I was automating the backups of my SVN repository. The script was supposed to create a snapshot of SVN, copy the snapshot to my backup server, then delete the local backup. Instead it deleted the SVN repository. At least it gave my the opportunity test my backup.:)
If you really believe that the government will falter to such a degree that it will not be able to honor its FDIC obligations, I suggest you remove your funds from your bank, and put them into food storage, ammunition and firearms, and other dystopian future necessities.
Way ahead of you there. Got my bunker built and stocked. Plenty of ammo too. And a crossbow for when the ammo runs out. And a club for when I run out of crossbow bolts.
I was being charitable. Not really all that many people were tortured by Win 1 & 2. As for MS-BOB, well it has provided so much entertainment over the years that I think it must have paid for it's sins by now.
Don't get me wrong, BOB was a terrible idea, badly implemented, but it did set a new high water mark for BAD software, and will continue to be the butt of jokes long after you and are long gone.
They didn't need to try to cut costs, because they could pass their costs on to the customer, and the customer would be happy because it meant less downtime.
What a radical concept... Think I could patent it?:)
I believe you. What you are missing, is I am an old man.
I have owned radios with tubes in them.
I took apart anything I could get my hands on from a very early age.
Highschool was a VERY long time ago. I remember it being grade 10, but it might have been earlier.
Grade 11 and 12 electronics courses were great! My instructor had worked on the Apollo project. He showed the class an early IC. White ceramic, and dripping with gold. He had removed it as defective from the command module of Apollo 6.
But getting back to my original point, that original class taught me things that I use to this day.
Like clicking on a link in an unsolicited email is a BAD idea.
I took a course in 10th grade, it was some simple electricity course, Electrical safety, series and parallel circuits. resistors and capacitors. The final project was to build a simple electric motor. Including winding the armature and coil by hand.
I found this course much more useful in real life than just about anything else I have ever learned.
Do you feel dirty having typed that? Because I feel dirty just having read it.
Apple for my laptops, and Linux for my servers.
1. Install Linux and never worry about crapware again.
2. Buy a Mac and never worry about crapware again.
Why yes, I am an apple fanboy. How did you guess?

Funny, because I have been thinking the same thing lately. That and that an accountant with a background in IT could rule the world! :)

After seeing some of those "I'm a PC" ads, I am thinking "Loving your PC" could be thought of a pedophilic.
Ya know there is this neat new OS called Linux, it can handle quad cores and more quite nicely.
You might want to check it out sometime.

IIRC manbearpig is three halfs of a word.
A better question would be "Why do Americans think they have the right to be the "World's Policeman"?

Friends don't let friends compute drunk.
The first luser to ask me to install Windows 7 for them is getting a Solaris 10 box back.
After all 10 is 3 better than 7.
I wonder how many of the Windows 7 "parties" will really be Linux install fests.

They haven't finished making up for WinME yet. :)
