I get that they're toys, and toys are traditionally for kids, and that it's fun to make fun of/hate on Microsoft, and that Microsoft is obviously trying to get people hooked early (did I cover all the bases?).. but these action figures are more collectibles than toys to be played with. This stuff isn't really for kids, it's for your OCD-afflicted nerd that has (hopefully) outgrown Pokemon.
Why is building this stuff into a television a good idea? Even if the money grubbing cable companies weren't all about screwing you with their prices, what happens when new legit tech does get created? I'm forced to buy a new tv?
Her blog got her noticed at CBR, which got her noticed by Bongo, which eventually got her noticed by Marvel & DC, which eventually got her a Wonder Woman job. It took close to ten years, but that was the progression. Yes, she's talented, and her humble beginnings in the comic book industry begain with a blog.
Gail Simone didn't "get" anything because of her blog, she earned her way as a good writer that got noticed and continues to do so. The path she took just happened to start with a blog. What are you so defensive about?
I'm all for anything that creates competition and lowers prices, especially in the cable industry (all bastards), but I just have this bad feeling that this is really designed to make it harder for any of the cable companies to compete with the big telcos, which is already nigh impossible. So frustrating.
If my memory servers, the only thing different in the prototype floating around is the naked statue that was removed is still there. Everything else is just as censored.
Let me skip any and every single cutscene/tutorial, but also give me the opportunity to replay them at my convenience.
If I've decided to skip something that actually has important information, or I decide I want to watch something later because I'm in a groove, where is the harm in letting me access it when I want to?
Isn't this something people were saying before the Wii was even released? I don't understand why this is news again, almost (or possibly more than) a year later.
What part of "they recalled the bad DVDs" lead you to "I suppose you think Sony was doing a really great thing when they released that rootkit uninstaller too"?
Recalling a DVD that won't play is reasonable and simple to do, putting the rootkit back in pandora's box is a different animal entirely.
My understanding is that a copy of the magazine itself was scanned and leaked before it's normal publication date, but the/. post isn't really too clear.
I do something called the ESPN/Slashdot shuffle. I read one, , read the other, do something else, then when I get bored I load them again, over and over until I realize I'm reloading the same goddamn sites over and over again. It's a vicious cycle.
Let' see, AOL invented the $14.95/month from everyone forever strategy and it got them where they are today--the verge of bankruptcy.
AOL didn't "invent" that, their hourly-usage-for-hundreds-of-dollars-per-bill plan reigned supreme until pure dial-up services started going for 20 bucks a month. AOL had no choice but to cave to a standard price point.
It tickles me pink that someone, while trying to figure out how to kill their wife, took a break to visit what used to be my web site. Warms my heart:D
If you know enough about someone enough to know you want to break into their computer it should be incredibly simple to find out what sites that person views on a frequent basis and then plant your malware on it. Easier than pie.
All that being said, I wouldn't want one of these without a Firewire port. It's kind of sad that a long-time seller of external drives for the Macintosh now sells a model of external case with only USB support.
While I completely agree with you, Gen5/nano iPods are USB only too. The travesty spreads.

Man, I thought that headline was "Yahoo! Slammed Over Privacy By Chinese Court", and I was really confused.

Hmm. This reminds me of Mr. Ng from Snow Crash. Could be interesting.
Shit! I hope Alex Chiu didn't patent his magic everlasting magnetic rings, or everyone with cancer is fucked!
Indiana Jones would've put that shit in a Museum, not paid dividends to his shareholders.

Go take your happy pills.
Sony recalled the discs that recently came out and would not play on standard licensed players. Google around, you'll find the news.

So, would I need to leave the PS3 running 24x7 folding@home, racking up $100+ in costs, for this?
This was my first thought. Surely we have the right to sell our own domain names, but they are virtual property. So, which is which?

I was hoping "interactive" meant I could blow up or otherwise destroy advertising billboards in-game. :(
