Not really, they said that a Soyuz missions costs $10 million. The amount of time one spends in orbit/space is only at the cost of oxygen, which last time I checked was plentiful. It'd work out more like.

Where n being days in space.
D, being the cost of a day in space.

This pisses me off to no end, a journalistic hack finds someway to show corporate America that he is on their side. 'lest he should have individual thoughts for himself, this guy like many others has deemed technology bad, as it deprives money from corporations who have a hard time spending the money they already have, and the fact that it is complex. It'd be different if he outlined the pros and cons, but who needs to enlighten the people when you can whip them into a frenzy.

Its all fine and dandy that you can blow up a laptop, but thats expensive. Make the people pay for the lost equipment. Me, i'd make damn sure that I didn't leave behind a laptop worth $6,000 dollars. Or, have like a wristwatch that transmits a signal, and if you get say, 20 metres away from your laptop it goes off. An ounce of prevention beats uhh.. a lot of cure? Anyways, the idea that a laptop could self destruct is always nice, keep the data on it encrypted for added security.

Well, basically, you set up the service, tell it how to connect to your site, where to put things and it does this everytime you update your information on the blogger site. Works quite well, as it's not that complex but you can edit all the files. So if your site runs PHP or ColdFusion, you can add that sort of stuff into it. The only thing that has to remain the same, is the link to the blogger website.

I like that video camera idea, it'd be neat like a webcam or something. The first webcam in space?
Well, the other idea could work. Airplane black boxes probably wouldn't work though. Airplanes are objects that travel in the atmosphere, they don't have to go through the atmosphere. Black Boxes also don't have radio transmitters that can reach earth or a sattalite in orbit. That'd be a kicker, because there wouldn't be many things that could retrieve it, none that could do it cheaply or efficeintly.
