While I'm sure that there are lots of people that don't know the difference between any of those words...I gotta say that I mix them up for the same reason you give. A great deal of the typing process has been taken over by my hands and is almost completely subconscious. If I were writing it with a pencil I would never get it wrong...but if I am typing it I might mix them up because I am going so fast and so much is just my hands remembering patterns.
Don't the Limey's use that as standard? Orientate doesn't bother me nearly as much as "supposably". Maybe that's just a mid-western thing. The funny part to me is that when I try to correct people on that abomination...and I don't do it in front of anyone to make them look stupid...they almost invariably get defensive about it.
it gets better as you use it. I hated it at first...and it still gets things wrong....but I wouldn't want it off now. For all the times it makes you go back and erase...it more often figures out a long word for you so you don't have to type it all.

it corrected something that I typed to "Schevardnadze" once. I was more than a little intoxicated at the time and can't remember what the typo it corrected to that was. But I remember texting a friend who also had an iPhone to see if it did it on theirs too. It did.
I am quite confident I will never need to text someone Schevardnadze...although my phone has my back on the spelling if I do.
Instead, all I have is an amusing story. Went out with a girl a few times...we are hanging out at her place watching TV. Flipping thru the channels I stumble across TPB.
I say "oh wow...a classic"
she says "what movie is this?"
"you really don't know?"
"Lord of the Rings?...no....Conan the Barbarian?"
This was one of many nails in the coffin....but it was the final one. I would be astounded that someone my age didn't know what movie that was, but wouldn't decide not to hang out with them anymore over it. But it was amusing.
hehe...I had the speakers off because it is late here, and just hearing it thru the headphones laying off to the side I thought the guy wasn't speaking English. Once I heard the guy ask him a question in English I put the headphones on and could understand him. I have to speak to Indians at work a lot...I have developed an ear for it...but he is speaking pretty quickly and does have a thick accent.
If consoles are your thing, then console away...but I do need to defend PC gaming from this sentiment.
Please speak for your own PC experiences....my PC simply works. A friend of mine...who admittedly plays way too much xbox...is on his 6th 360. I don't disagree with you in general, but PC gaming thru steam works pretty well and easily, if you have decent hardware.
And another point on the hardware...because most PC gamers are just geeks like that we do love to build insane rigs (i7 920, 16GB or ram, 2X radeon 5870's, 2X velociraptor 600GB RAID 0......muaha.....muahahaha....muahahaha)
ahem. Having said that however, one thing that consoles have done is stop/greatly slow down how often you need to upgrade. It's going to cost more than a PS3 (because it does more and isn't being sold for a loss), but you can build/buy a pretty decent gaming rig and not have to spend a grand to do it.
I said the same thing walking out of the theater....somoene I was with said that it was just keeping with how Flynn in the original was. I was 10 in 83....haven't seen it again and don't remember myself.
I admit...It would only be geek bragging rights for me. I couldn't justify $200 a month, but if I had a roommate/neighbor willing to split it with me I'd think about it. Yes, disposable income is awesome.
I can get 720p HD movies off newsgroups in around 25-35 minutes on my 20mbit (goes up to 25 at times) connection. Sweet Jeebus how fast would they go if it was anywhere near 150.But that's blatantly just for bragging rights. As it stands it doesn't bother me to fire up newsleecher before I go to work and have it all by the time I get home. Of course, that is a completely illegitimate reason
I do not agree with what is happening to this guy...but the catch here is that he made money (whatever the amount was).
They are saying "we support only this product in this particular state of being, if you modify it beyond that you're on your own, if you charge other people to modify theirs...we are going to have a problem with that.". I don't agree with that, but if the guy wasn't profiting, this probably wouldn't be a story.
Yes guys....the warez are all here....and it's all free.....DO NOT TRY TO MAKE MONEY OFF IT.
That's why the SLIC table in the BIOS activation crack is the only way to go. I worked on someone's machine that had a legit copy of win7 and still cracked it so it wouldn't ask about activation again.
is there a loophole in the law for circumventing copyright to avoid future support calls?
I loved playing that with the settings where you had unlimited bombs. Even after you ran out of fuel you could keep the plane in the air indefinitely. Myself and a friend bombed every single target in a marathon mission one night.
I still remember getting my intellivoice in the mail and hearing it say 'beee sevbum teen booooommber' and thinking it was the coolest thing ever.
bomb squad was fun too. I would intentionally get the code wrong just to hear the guy say 'oh no' before the building blew up.
There is almost nobody with my name....but amusingly enough there is someone from almost the same town with the same name.....google away, I am not that guy. Wish I had his money...
I don't know if this is related, just pointing it out in case. I listen to an AM radio station on the rare occasion that I drive to work...I drove today because it is outlandishly hot here today....that station was just crazy noises. This station is always the first one I lose when I drive out of town...guessing it is related.
I don't care about who had more fun. It's a silly question. Here's another one. Would Portal 2 be a better game if it was being developed PC only?
I don't play console games, my friends that do fly off the handle when I suggest this....so it comes up a lot. When you design a game for a controller, you have to make certain choices about gameplay to fit in with that controller..
The poster child for consoles making games less fun to me is borderlands. The multiplayer in borderlands sucked. And it did because it is a console game. The server browser that battlefield bad co 2 shipped with was a joke. It was a joke because it is a console game.
I should have known it would come to this when I went to a party where people were playing halo online. They thought it was the greatest thing ever and were amazed that I didn't even want to play it. They looked at me like I was crazy when I said 'it's way too slow and I have no desire to use that controller in a shooter'. A sign of things to come.
So do you just turn down any client that A. is a Mac shop, B. is a Linux shop...
I can answer that for my company (insurance claims processing)
A: yes, that is exactly what we do. B: if you don't have a windows pc that can access your linux box...yes, that is exactly what we do.
if you'd care to start a company that caters to mac/linux users in the medical field, let me know...I know the X12 layouts as well as anyone.....and I need to lose some weight, which we will...because we aren't going to make any money.

Funny. I would mod you if I had the points.

Yeah, I don;t think we need to devote much time to studying things like this.
Too much of ANYTHING is bad for you.

An early contender for car analogy of the year!

DVI to HDMI
VGA to HDMI
I admit that I am skeptical of the VGA to HDMI...but I used a DVI to HDMI for several months and it worked great.

Write the next terminator movie. Please.
