I like the idea of a distance based tax instead of the amount of gasoline consumed. Since roadways are a major, major source of infrastructure dollars and the majority of those roads and only used by drivers. It is just the idea of having a government controlled GPS device scares me and they should think of a different implementation other than using the GPS device.
No but if manufacturers kept to a certain chip design many components in a computer would be reusable. Replacing merely the chip instead of the entire until. Replacing the motherboard a little less often than that, replacing the RAM even a little less often, replacing the CD/DVD drives when they break, replacing a mouse and keyboard when they break... there are many many ways we can limit or decrease our comsumption.
Well I agree with the idea of recycling but a new paradigm is needed.
We as a species consume way too much which creates way too much waste. Around 1% of all consumer goods are disposed of within months after purchase.
We are in need of a cycle that is more symbiotic and less parasitic towards the earth.
No way man... if the Liberals call a new election less than a year after the last the general public will be mighty pissed. They will probably bide their time.
Anyways, I think a lot of the time the opposition party is in the business of saying anything that will gain more votes for their side. Whenever they gain more power we will see if their words turn to actions.
I think a lot of people there are detained as POW. They are not terrorists, they simply lived in a country and were part of an army that the USA decided to invade.
Sounds damn dangerous. Cutting off the power to a vehicle in the middle of a high-speed highway. Creating a situation that could result in a multiple vehicle pileup.
Wow, I didn't know you could turn disastors off. Instead we can just hope for no disaster and if one happens we could just hit the reset button and start from scratch.
Seriously though, sending/repairing equipment into orbit does not sound cost effective to me.
All houses are tagarts and nothing is Burglar proof, just a little more resistant. Securing hourses really doesn't stop someone from breaking in, it just creates peace of mind and validates insurance claims.
This is off topic, but I have a little experiment for anyone who wants to give it a try.
1. goto baidu.com
2. search for anything or click on the page
3. Does it work?
4. go back to baidu.com
5. now search for falun gong
6. Did it work?
7. If not try going back to baidu.com, make sure you reference the page and don't just click back
I did this and after I searched falun gong I seem to have been temporarily blocked from using the webpage. My connection seems to be getting interrupted.
This ISP is being notified by a third-party, correct? How does this third-party find out about torrent-users/file sharers on the ISP's network? Do they run a bunch of torrent programs and then find the IP address of the people downloading from them? Is it not illegal to upload copyrighted material in Canada?
Say I live in Wisconsin and purchase something online. What stops me from saying I live in another state or country without such tax? How does the state of Wisconsin collect such taxes from businesses/corporations that fall out of their juridiction, (different state or country).
Need to keep pumping that taxpayer money into law enforcement so they can keep us safe from "obscene porn" http://www.usdoj.gov/criminal/optf/ and try to win the drug war.
Good God, what is the big fucking deal with all the inauguration here? I mean, sure, it is important in that it is the orderly transition of power in the US, but, really people, why are some treating this as the second coming of Christ?
It is just the swearing in of another president....can't we just look at the digested version on the nights news?
I don't think people are treating this like the second coming of Christ.
Nor is it just another president. He is the first descendant of an African to hold the position in history.
Considering that a short time ago (relatively speaking), people of his race were extremely prejudized against, were not considered citizens or allowed to vote.
That I think is what the big fucking deal is about.
They are just helping the rich instead of the poor. A fundamental flaw in their plan. The majority of people need housing, food, clothes and public transportation more than a select few need private transportation.

This is damn hypocritical.

Does anyone really think that blacklisting opposing political viewpoints is merely an "unfortunate side effect" of schemes like this?
I don't, it is a fucking tragedy!
Where the bloody hell do they have this policy?
I think a lot of people there are detained as POW. They are not terrorists, they simply lived in a country and were part of an army that the USA decided to invade.
For those who haven't noticed: the same thing is happening in the West
For those who haven't noticed the same thing has happened in the West
Fixed that for ya

How about referring to the guy in the office next to yours by his name.
Because no white (or any other ethnicity) person has ever created a rap song/album.
the question of dropping your cable becomes a little bit more reasonable
It has been reasonable for a long time. It is called over the air broadcasting!

The same goes for the Band
What band?

There fixed that for ya.
For once I am thanking the fact that I have no atheletic skill and turned to a life of technology and computers.
You can never be too rich, too thin or have too many backups. At least I get the chance to do one out of three....
Say that again when your critical organs start failing from a lack fatty tissue in your body.

I just wish those entities would become illegal.
