    Exactly what I was thinking for Verizon and maybe some others... A lot of Verizon's DSL connections are either 3.0 or 1.5 capped which would destroy their throughput...

    that said probably 80+% of Verizon's service IS DSL not Fios, so its actually probably lifting their numbers higher then they should be, not the other way around. Last I heard Verizon had stopped rolling out Fios (this may just be internet rumor mill crap)

    Yeah, I've been pretty disappointed in Cata. The revamped and new areas are EXTREMELY linear in quest design. The biggest annoyance for me though is every class as become console game in its control style. Its like playing Mortal Kombat or something, If I wanted a console style fighting game I play one. For people that like playing a lot of different characters it makes it impossible to play them respectably without spending insane amounts of time practicing your rotations.

    Putting a backdoor into windows would be stupid unless you at the same time make sure there is a backdoor-free version for government use.

    If you provide a backdoor free version to the government then you can't spy on the FBI, CIA, etc !!!

    A 486 DX2 66 was probably under powered for Quake. I played it on a Pent. 150mhz and it wasn't exactly snappy on that...

    Yes, because having a ear clip bluetooth hands free while riding a bike is dangerous...

    I can understand laws forcing people to use a hands free device while driving, anything more is just stupid.

    Like another poster said the FCC will never allow jamming devices in cars. This "announcement" is nothing more then a grab for attention...

    Quickbooks
    POS software
    most off the shelf inventory systems...

    finding someone to convert,maintain,train them in use of Linux alternatives is not cost effective...

    In the last couple weeks, I've chatted with folks that play such games, and all of them based their purchase of the iPhone based upon their ability to play their facebook games 24/7 (at any hour of the day).

    Your friends are poor researchers because the iPhone and iPod Touch have never supported Flash. That's why the iPad flap was always so funny to me. It could be summarized as "Adobe is angry that Apple won't start supporting an app that it's never supported on its other portable platforms".

    duh... that's why they bought Apple products...

    The first and second generation iPhones have little discernable difference in CPU speed or ram. Why is the 1st generation too old, and the 2nd isn't?

    The second generation (iPhone 3G) is too old. It won't be able to utilize many of the new capabilities of the iPhone OS 4.0, including multitasking.

    interesting I read both the 3g and 3gs were getting the 4.0 upgrade

    All religions are created equally, some more equal than others...
    It will be fun for a laugh, but if they try they'll see how objective people really are around religion. FSM supporters might even get jail-time because the have invented a religion purely for blasphemous purposes in the judges eyes.

    When did it go legit? I haven't worked desktop support for years but I STILL go into convulsive fits I hear anyone mention it or I see it on a computer...

    The idea of "civilian" casualties is a VERY recent, concept in general warfare.

    read "the art of war", accounts of the middle ages, ancient civilizations, etc...

    Generally, you killed everyone unless you were taking them to sell into slavery.

    Easiest way to win a war in ancient china? kill the other guys peasants so he can't feed his army...
