That looks like an XOR to me... Not the cleanest obviously, but understandable with all of a minute looking at it.
Anybody care to support or dispute that?
In a way.
Red light doesn't change the dilation of your pupils as much. That's the reason amateur astronomy circles use red filters on their flashlights, so when they turn them off it doesn't take as long to readjust to nighttime conditions. It's also the reason most alarm clocks use red lights, it's not as big a shock when you wake up in the middle of the night and roll over to check the clock.
I have a usb hub with a single blue LED and I can find my way around my office in otherwise blackout conditions.

They call it the "mosquito" for a reason... Re-tune the thing to attract mosquitoes. IANAB, (I am not a biologist) there may or may not be such a frequency.
Set up a slightly out-of-tune version next to the original... If the geezers can't hear 25kHz, maybe a nice, loud, 80Hz beat frequency will be more their style.
See also this, particularly the idea about the phase-shifted replica...
But since I = V/R, you can also say P = V^2/R. Since current varies so much during a chips operation, it can be easier to have an average resistance value and the operating voltage to determine power consumption.

No more so than when the term ironic is used when speaking of steel-related subjects... Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Zealotry?
A spherical pizza... with the toppings on the inside? I think you may be on to something there, Sherlock!

http://xkcd.com/322/ Easy there, big fella.
If you're a slashdotter, the odds are the machine doesn't even bother with a disguise. :-)

Too soon... too soon. [shakes head]
