exactly! I wish I had mod points, oh wait you're already at 5!
I was expecting to read a whole list of complaints against this practice when I started reading the comments, and was surprised to say the least.
There was a scene where somebody was breaking into the system and this IT expert freaks out and Harrison Ford says something to the effect of 'just create an exception rule to block his IP'. My girlfriend asked if that was true and I said yeah but even I know that and I'm not any where near as skilled as that guy is supposed to be. After that I just had to leave the room I couldn't watch anymore.
I was thinking the same thing. In the Marines if we had a rifle checked out of the armory we had better have it at hand at all times. if you wanted to take a leak you slung it over your shoulder, one guy made the mistake of leaning it against a tree and of course along comes the officer. He regretted that mistake for a long time.
I think if every cop/DHS knew they would lose their pay or rank or even fired for misplacing it then they would be very careful.
yeah it works alright but it doesn't mean it works good. We just adopted this system and I honestly don't see a time savings, not for the doctor and not for the staff.
What I told my boss when I started to get to know the program was it's as if they said "Ok we're all done we have an EMR product, oh wait we need a lab component" and 5 minutes later they had a lab component. The typical response I get is "well it solves some problems like chasing down doctors to get them to give you a Diagnosis code" but what they aren't seeing is the paperwork I have to do later when the doctor used a code that is never covered and it was denied.
My best example of the lack of forethought in the programming is I have to type in 'yellow' and 'clear' for every urine I examine. A drop down box would save me so many keystrokes in a day, but it's electronic so it must be better.
Bottom line they bought a system that solved some problems but created whole new ones where none existed before.
/. car analogy: I complained about a car with no brakes so they gave me a car with brakes but no steering.
This is the main reason I use Adblock Plus. If the advertisements weren't so annoying then I wouldn't mind them, there are a few text ads I don't block because they aren't intrusive at all. But when I see flash based ads that yes could have been done with HTML or JavaScript then I block those immediately.
I think the difference is if you buy something from a company (IE: Newegg)and post online that you like it, that is your opinion, especially if there is a forum that allows negative feedback as well. If you were to create a website/blog that talked about that product and they had happened to give you the product I think you would be subject to the new restrictions.
I'm in the same boat you're in, I always joke with my friends that if they did steal my identity they would probably feel sorry for me and actually deposit money in my accounts.
Is this about an earlier version of Firefox? I use version 3.5 and under Options->Privacy->Location "When using the location bar suggest:" with 3 options. I picked the nothing option. What am I missing? Is this article about why they put in the option to suggest 'nothing' in version 3.5?
If you have that kind of money to waste on this 'addiction' cure wouldn't it be cheaper to just hire a therapist? I just can't see how somebody would pay that much to cure what so many generations survived without? We'll say it's a teenager forced by their parents to go here, it would still be cheaper to just take time off of work and supervise the kid for a long period of time. Maybe the parent will learn something in the process that probably got their kid 'addicted' in the first place.
I know someone who did that by typing in *.qdb for the quicken database files, then he proceeded to call the credit card companies and alert them that they had people sharing their info. Although the credit companies were very grateful, he still didn't want to give him his name.
Well I could be wrong but we were told that there was a law passed about the pharmaceutical reps giving out pens and other trinkets. They (Lawmakers) somehow felt that this was influencing the doctors decisions in what they prescribed.
I've personally NEVER seen/heard a doctor say they prescribe a certain med because of the gifts they got, nor have they just glossed over the results of their patient's complaints about said medications. I have been to some of the lunches here at the clinic and heard the doctors say "well we have been getting complaints of and what is doing to correct this?"
So, if man managed to build a brain like structure, we would probably spend several years just training it.
Obviously I'll be corrected if I am wrong, but let's say Bob has a low level of interactions in a 24hr day, I will say 100 (new sights, smells, etc...). It takes years like you said to train the human brain with all these interactions to get it to a level of maturity (we'll say 50 years old). Wouldn't building a 'computerized brain' make these interactions a lot quicker? IE It would take the computerized brain a couple of days to reach a level of maturity?
I was saying to get it notarized then go talk to people about it. If they rip you off AND you have proof that you talked to that particular person wouldn't that give you a leg to stand on in court?
I always thought if I had a great idea to go ahead and write it down and take it to a notary. I BELIEVE this will prove you had it at a specific time and date without giving it away. I admit I am not trained in patent law it is just an idea though. Good luck!
I used to deliver to a company in santa cruz county that made a lightweight plastic hose with a slit down the middle to insert all the cables into. So instead of a bunch of different cables you just had one big 'hose' running through your room. It was a more organized look, sorry I can't remember the name of the company but you can probably modify something to do the same thing.
does it take the 'ferret' to sniff a typical container? Will this improve the turn around times from docking to unloading of the containers or will it add to it?
but I can't see the point to this. Granted I don't have the problem of needing to have gold bars available but I still can't see why somebody would do this.
Actually they are no longer allowed to give gifts of any kind, no more pens, mirrors, or other amenities. I'm not sure if it's a federal law or a California law, but it went into effect this year. They can still cater lunches for the doctors, but it isn't any really extravagant affair, at least not at the clinic I work at, it's usually sandwiches or mexican food.
If it doesn't work once you buy it, boycott the company that makes it
But how do I get my money BACK? I'm more interested in getting my money back (Like at a real merchants) then I am at writing a letter to someone who will never read it. If I got my money back I could still boycott the company and have lost nothing from my bank account.
Why can they sell me buggy software with no return policy and I lose money, but if it happens to them it's a huge legislative issue?

I wonder if they like OPEC?
My guess is one modeled themselves after the other, but that is just my guess.

They didn't have permission from the actual owners of the houses is my guess on why it was illegal.

Damn i wish I had mod points!
I read the article, it appears by the pics that the the black guy is the tech and the customer is white.
