Bullshit. I know a ton of people (including myself) who didn't buy a stand-alone DVD player because the PS2 would have one. I'm *SURE* it's responsible for a growth of DVD sales. Your observation about DVD player sales hurting is probably spot on, however, even if you were comparing apples to oranges as the GP never mentioned players but was talking about actual DVDs.

Yes, it may make some people smarter, but realistically it won't do a whole lot of good. People have to get vaccinated for other, lesser, diseases. So why not mandate a vaccine against CANCER.

You missed his point. Most people who buy computers don't really do any research. They may go in looking for a certain amount of RAM or something because of a conversation with their neighbor or aunt or something who just bought a computer, but they sure as hell aren't going to research the minutae of OS flavors. They are going to be mostly influenced by the price or sales pitch.

Try looking at the World of Warcraft website. There is a big, obvious, "World of Warcraft Jobs" banner.

While I am no hiring coordinator for Blizzard, I'd say that you should at least posess the ability to use the Internet (at least try to click on the linked content in this story) and/or read.
