Isn't the problem in question the fact that they gained private data?
They got in trouble because of privacy converns
And now the govenment want that data, isn't that effectively doubling the problem.
Govt "you shouldn't gather personal data with out authorisation"
Google "sorry, we will delete it"
Govt "No that's not good enough"
Google "well what is"
Govt "Give it to us. We need to make sure we gather as much information as possible from your crime so as we can 'claim to be doing something'"
Google "Uh... Wait!... What??? Piss off"
Govt "LAWSUIT!!!"
Yea, I stand by google on this one. The govt has the biggest store of ill gotten personal information in the planet. Who would you trust?
I mean, can they really claim patent for a phrase that has millions of instances of prior use?
IANAL, but surely they cant then start claiming royalties from the use of this phrase in current and future media? that would be like patenting the phrase 'how you doin'
For mission critical or life threatening services a simple 3g service would provide the necesacery backup, or just dual FO connections pointed at different NTU's on seperate networks.
Redundancy is always an option.
Seriously?
Isn't it time we boycotted these totalitarian regimes in the middle east?
Freedom of speech? --- NO!
Net neutrality? ---- NO!
Freedom of expression? --- NO!
Somber existence? --- NO!

God bless the west!!!!
Most avid PC gamers I know own both a PC and a console of some description. As most games now releassed on the PC have been developed and released for a console often months ahead of the PC release and these gamers have already forked out once for a title, and just like the music industry a few years back, we DO NOT want to pay multiple times for the same media for use on different platforms. This is what is killing the industry caz seriously who want to pay for the same title with slightly better graphics and some annoying DRM when they can just buy the console version and 'plug and play' without having to dive through 30 flaming hoops while doing backflips and balancing a ball on our nose.
Logmein.com has the best range and set of service and support tools for a remote environment.
It is very compatable using HTML or Java.
The free service is good, but lets be honest guys, we need to support the companies that make EXCELLENT software solutions.
I use logmein rescue to remote support friends and family members, and I make them pay for the service, I mean they are getting a chargeable service, why not charge them a few bucks each to support makers of great software!!!.
I feel that the best option is to document the use of pirated software, arrange a meeting with the stake holders and discuss options.
If they reply "we are going to use it anyway" refuse to install it on any new machines. This is not reusing to do your job, this is refusing to break the law for your boss.
I doubt any judge in the country will fall on the employers side in an employment dispute if it comes to that.
I find the best stress test for PC's are the actual programs that are run. For instance winrar is great to stress memory and CPU, nothing like trying to compress a 4.7GB+ iso to stress that area.
And for video, why not crank crysis up to max specs and run the built in benchmark.
These of course dont take the place of proper hardware diagnostics, and if you lack the equipment, take your box to a mates (ENSURE THEY HAVE A COMPATIBLE HW CONFIG). If you lack the knowledge, take it to a computer repair guy.
Set the device up so that if someone incorrectly enters the password 3 times, instead of a lockout, have it blow up.
Problem solved, and you just helped reduce future crime by disabling 1 more criminal.
I wouldn't put it past these black hat's, that maybe the ATM was real, using their 'guise' of security experts as a human hack so that the 'cops' could 'easily' remove the ATM to compromise a US banking system.
H4X status = WIN!
It is motions like this which lead otherwise paying customers to pirate music that they just cannot find at big chains, as they are not 'Mainstream enough'.
Well done EMI, you have just inadvertently promoted piracy.
OMFG how darn logical,
Im so going to implement that next time I create my lengths.
Although, as always, I would reccomend making the cable 5cm per length longer, just incase you need to snip a few ends.
I thought we were living in a democratic society, so why do the minority (big business) have the power to push through ridiculous legislation with absolutly no regard to the human rights nor the innocent until proven guilty legislations, which our grandparents and ancestors fought and died to implement in the name of making our cuntry a better place to live.
Its great to be an underdog in a society that favors only money... ahem

Thank god for the Escape Slide Parachute episode!!!
All the australian robots realised they were in Australia, commanded by an Australian. I surprised they didn't just self destruct.

Rocket propelled food drops?
Though, with this number of frivolous lawsuits, I'm missing out on big bucks!!!!!

Dont use MS Outlook. There are pleanty of alternatives out there, for instance Mozilla Thunderbird.

Shouldn't the plural of Prius be Priusii? As in a carpark full of Priusii

Its just another analogue skill replaced in a digital age.

At least it less poisonous and less addictive than that horrible drug nicotine.
Now they can have another reason to keep their dreads, they can grow their weed in there.
