It's not that social networks are a violation of NCAA rules but rather that the NCAA believes schools would detect violations of NCAA rules by monitoring them. For example, an athlete "tweets" (what an annoying word) that he received clothing from some pro recruiter, which is in violation of NCAA rules. Thus, the school would discover this sooner and be able to deal with it. The whole thing seems a bit ridiculous, but there it is.
It's not quite that bad here, but I've seen unicyclists juggling while riding to class, a middle-aged man riding a razor scooter with a dinosaur head mounted on the handle bars, people going down hills in wheeled trash cans, people walking around with 5 foot wooden swords for no apparent reason, etc. That said, I would guess that people walking around a campus square are probably not paying lots of attention to their surroundings since it's not that dangerous. Such places are typically pedestrian only and fairly secure, so being run over by a car/eaten by wild animals/attacked by terrorists isn't really a concern.
Wait. In my car I have three levers, and I sometimes use all three at once with only two feet, plus I have a steering wheel and gear lever. Therefore, I may sometimes be operating all 5 controls at once.
Yep, and if you're riding with clipless pedals and pedal toes-down (like I tend to do) then your saddle will be even higher. I can't touch the ground with both feet at once while sitting on the saddle of either my mountain bike or road bike.
I doubt it would be much use for hydroelectric power - at least not large scale. The synchronous generators in dams probably don't have that many parts to wear out - just bearings and brushes. You'd probably be increasing the complexity by using this permanent magnet rotor design.
No, and they're not specifically "caused" by transmissions either. Standing waves are caused by the boundary conditions - like the walls of your microwave or the metal body of an aircraft. I did not intend to imply that they are "caused" by time. Forgive me for writing a quick post before running to turn in my emag apps homework.
As I understand it, you can get some pretty powerful standing waves inside an aircraft if enough people use wireless devices for an extended time period. I doubt a single mouse could cause problems, but say 30 of them for 2 hours - you might have some issues.
The current smart is one of the safest cars on the planet yet it was a uphill fight to get the thing in the USA and then they had to "add safety features" to a car that was already a 5 star crash rating car.
add safety features? why? oh to make it more expensive... I see.
Sounds like someone's been drinking the kool-aid...
The problem with the smart is that it's not very practical. Many people in the U.S. do not live in crowded cities like Europe. Hybrids sold here are going to have to be at least the size of the Prius to really be practical for anyone who isn't single.
It looks like this is just supplemental material, and not an all-encompassing educational solution. At least that's what this sentence - "Participating educators will create and compile supplemental materials relating to 21st century physics in an open-source format that can be used to strengthen existing physics content." - seems to say.
I guess you don't know how easy it is to remove components when damage is not a concern.
The only people I know who build their own cars...

DIY Hybrid Car Kit

are gearheads who don't care too much about hybrids, although I'm sure there are some out there. Interesting idea, but not sure I'd go for it. A kit car is not my idea of a great daily driver, which is all I would use a hybrid for. Given the suggested price, I'd have a Toyota hybrid.
Also, I should point out that making the parts pollutes a whole heck of a lot more than putting them together.
But maybe you should try to exercise outside a bit. I would count myself as an introvert, and I run and bike regularly. If you make time to get out early in the morning or go out in the country, you can ride or run when or where most people aren't out. Maybe instead of trying to avoid exercising outside, you should just go ahead and try it. You may find that it isn't as uncomfortable a situation as you think.

however, who knows what else this does.
Dunno, but I bet Andrew Zimmern would try it.

I got the second consonant, but by association, I pictured projector in a guy's shirt pocket. Must pretty darn hard to hold that thing still...

Zombies with chainsaws - dangerous.
Email? - not so much...

Hold on, I have to get out my tarot cards...
Warballooning! Heck yes.
I go to Georgia Tech, you insensitive clod!
so this means I don't need to get out my shotgun? darn...
Jesse Owens never won those gold medals..
include some sort of torture before the beheading? If it does, I take back my comment about the PRC hosting the Olympics.
why someone decided to let the PRC host the 2008 Olympic games.
Yeah, but blaming them makes me feel better.
MASER weapons!! mwahahaha
