  1. Customizable sounds for a car sound good, but on Electric Cars May Be Made Noisier By Law · · Score: 1

Custom cartones sound good now, but just wait until you have to pay the auto companies for making your electric ride sound like a Ferrari.

But *whose* web browser, media player, and desktop search? And can it be removed? Those are the problems with Windows and bundling. Boxed copies of the OS should contain whatever software MS wants, but OEMS and end users should be free to configure the OS as they see fit.

Again, someone is paying. Why should I, or the content provider, have to pay extra to make the ISPs meet their end of the bargain? If they can't do the job at the prices they gave, it's their fault, not mine.

You missed out on a really good game by not playing Link's Awakening. It managed to combine the best parts of its predecessors, added a few new things, and had an interesting, if somewhat weird, story. I'd argue that it also showed a bit of maturity because Link could only get home by destroying the island. A few elements of the 3-D Zelda games even got their start in Links Awakening, like the trading games and the girl named Marin (I'm including variations of the name).

Bundling wouldn't be a problem if Microsoft designed those components so they could be removed or replaced. That would give Microsoft the ability to provide whatever it wanted in the boxed version of its software while giving OEMs and users more say in what software is installed on a computer.
