I've done exactly that. Fresh XP install. She managed just fine. Although, to be fair, it was a custom-built computer, so finding drivers was as difficult as her bugging me as to what each component was specifically then googling the part number.
Of course, she also had an active interest in watching me build my computer, because she wanted to learn how. And she was asking questions as to what stuff was and what it did and how I knew that... so maybe it's just that she's a special case >_>
Where I work, there is a single IT guy in the IT department (50 person company).
He trusts me and one other guy enough that we have full reign over software on our PCs (barring piracy, obviously) and we get recruited to help others frequently.
Everybody else installs crap like a "dealio toolbar" and "dinosaur screensavers" and "sweetIM" and drives the three of us nuts because they're morons.
Whereas I IMed the IT guy, was like "hey, can I update video drivers so I can flip this monitor on it's side? I need vertical workspace more than horizontal" and he was like "whatever. You know what you're doing".
I'm just rambling now.
PC games and console games cost roughly the same amount. Simply not true. 360/PS3 games MSRP for $59.95, PC games MSRP for $49.95.
That's not counting budget titles(generally $30 on consoles, generally anywhere between $10 and $40 on PCs), collectors editions (the sky's the limit for both platforms, people will pay stupid amounts of money for plastic goodies), etc.
I dunno about you, but if I were of a pirating mentality, I'd just download a DS ROM, slap it on my microSD card, put that in my R4, and play it.
Thankfully for Nintendo, I generally use my R4 as an mp3 player, along with some snazzy homebrew apps like DSorganize.
Oh, Windows booted fine from GRUB. No problems whatsoever. Ubuntu refused to boot. She never, EVER got to a HDD-booted Ubuntu.
Which is sad, because she loved the LiveCD.
There's generally two kinds of pirate distributions.
One is just a disc image, go find your cracks/keys/etc elsewhere. This is the old type, and is getting less and less common as time goes on.
The other is a disc image alongside a crack, a game rip that is precracked, or some other such "complete package". This is the vast majority of pirated distributions nowadays.
Besides, what 8-12 year old is going to go out and buy a turn based strategy game with their allowance? I did. Missionforce:Cyberstorm, way back in the day.
For some reason, the traditional dual-boot WinXP and Ubuntu does not work for her. 7.10 works great as a LiveCD, installs just fine on her second HDD, but REFUSES to boot from GRUB, no matter what we've tried.
MAYBE Wubi would fix that...
I love DSOrganize, but I'm not sure I'd call it a PDA.
And since DSLinux exists, you probably COULD run Vi on it, if you really really wanted to.
Also, you should get a 2GB MicroSD.
I didn't say the best way to make the customers happy. I said the best way to make money is through happy customers.
almost all customers will be happy if they are provided with good service, good products, and fair prices.
Well, you can get projectors that do 800x600 for ~$500. Yeah, this idea seems made of fail. Projector =/= good gaming experience.
I buy data CD-Rs to put my music on for that very reason.

Pretty sure Nvidia just announced they WERE partnering with Via.
Well, I don't know about you, but I find it hard to browse the web and send email with a pen and paper.
I think the problem is more that you're playing as Alliance.
That worked in 98 too. The point is that DOESN'T work in Vista. Hence why this workaround exists.
It's the 3rd now, what is this shit?

Magstrikes fire all their darts in one go. You can't only fire 9 out of 10.
I read that as "Fastest Pitcher"... I was very confused.
So the solution then is the ability to upgrade the videocard in a laptop. That's what we need to do to save PC gaming! Upgradeable laptops!
I'd say the internet is more "organized anarchy" than anything. And yes, I do realize that's an oxymoron.

Could be worse. My girlfriend tried to install Ubuntu and has never gotten it to boot from the HDD. Ever. LiveCD worked great, though.

The best way to make money in the long term is to have happy customers. Period. Now if only some US companies would learn that...
We need cards for our hypocrisy now?
I assume they're just using the aesthetics of the old car. But I didn't RTFA.
