(note: this is _not_ intended to be a troll or a flame) 5 hours I got the hang of 3D studio max in 1... I _still_ haven't gotten used to blender, and i've tried it on and off for several years and how is an "extrude" feature innovative? every single modeler i've ever used has an "extrude" feature. And they've been around a lot longer than blender.
Yes, but I think he's also talking about writing the software to make the car and the reader communicate, along with notifying your friendly neighborhood gestapo of what your doing with your car.
I tried the devel branch for 2.0 not too long ago, it turned out to be hideously unstable... have they really fixed all of those bugs in such a short period of time?
If the artists and the public agreed to remove the greedy middleman, then the problem would be resolved.
The reason the RIAA & MPAA exist are for the greedy companies (Record Labels, Movie Studios) and artists (Metallica, Britney Spears, etc) to make more $$$
If you want to destroy the MPAA & RIAA, you'll have to convince artists to care more about the art than the money, live without being signed onto the greedy multi-billion dollar companies (to which the artists are nothing more than monkeys dancing for nickels), and not expect to 'make it' and live in a $2 million mansion for the rest of their lives...
Probably less than hiring a staff to translate/englishify (Direct translations can be horrible and make little sense, this accounts for common phrases & slang) and then hire people to do the voice acting.
Or you can simply have some guy type up a translated version and splice that into the video
They could always just use subtitles that are part of the main video stream -- The Iron Chef does this when the main person (forgot his name) is speaking, although the rest of the characters are dubbed over
Perhaps the _REAL_ reason they did this was because of Warcraft III Beta.... Since W3 is Battle.net only, It doesn't make sense to give copies to all your friends... they can use up your cd key (and since there's only 5000 copies, Blizzard likely has a list of all valid keys making a keygen futile)
Now with this bnetd, you can copy your Warcraft III Beta CD over and over again and simply play on your LAN or any bnetd server
With that in mind, Blizzard probably should have gone a different route then using the DMCA
If PC makers such as Dell and Compaq where able to say, "Look at this BeOS RUnning on our new XL-eron 800 pc, it runs better than windows blah blah blah" then maybe developers of pro audio equipment would take notics

Yeah, and i belive they bought 200 copies of Maya Unlimited, which goes for around $16,000 a copy... 200x16000=$3,200,000 - ouch! (unless they got some kind of bulk licsence deal, even then it would still be expensive)
Calm down there cowboy, I was just saying that i find the general style of the two films to be similar.

Except when the evangelion goes berserk and starts eating things ^_^

Well, the circuit city i go to has several Linux boxes (Compaqs i think, running RedHat)

it runs on linux?
isn't Bungie a MS-owned company (i belive they were bought out so that Halo would go on X-Box)
um, Maybe they just like First-Person shooters? I also think that making quake III without the traditional single-player campaign was a gamble.

Oh lookie, Mac Slash has been slashdotted.
It is? I don't see any "News for Linux Nerds" text on the site.... I guess they better stop posting FreeBSD articles
That really sucks that they changed it because making the terrorists middle-eastern would be too "politically incorrect" in these "sensitive times"
